Sacking workers for exercising their rights is wrong and illegal.

Border Express shamefully attempted to intimidate our members following their successful protected action ballot this week, targeting 25 of our members and delegates in Underwood with redundancy letters.

Our members stood strong, and the TWU responded immediately. Through our action, Border Express confirmed these redundancies would be placed on pause. But the fight is not over.

This isn't the first time we've fought companies who try to intimidate members. Qantas tried this in 2020 and paid the price - the largest industrial relations penalty in Australian history.

If Border Express doesn’t rescind these termination letters, we will fight them, and they will suffer the same fate.

Union members fought for superannuation and won, giving generations of hardworking Australians greater financial security in retirement.

Qube drivers in Moranbah met last week for negotiations with the company as EA bargaining begins.

After years of falling behind sector standards, Qube members are negotiating an agreement to close the gap in pay and conditions. These workers transport some of the most vital and dangerous goods in the industry, such as ammonium nitrate, in support of our state's food production and heavy industry.

They deserve an agreement that reflects the vital work they do for our state, and they are committed to fighting for it 👊

TWU Members at TGE Gracemere met this week to discuss the latest round of EA negotiations as national bargaining continues.

These Gracemere workers are union strong and unwavering in their fight for job security and conditions, as TGE shamefully refuses to come to the table to protect workers from unregulated automation and outsourcing.

Workers at Gracemere and across the country are prepared to do whatever it takes to force TGE to the table to negotiate a fair deal.

UNION WIN 💪

Bus Queensland drivers will receive a $1,000 payment from the company by 12 September, as set out in their hard-won enterprise agreement.

This is the direct result of Bus Queensland members and the TWU holding the company to the terms of their agreement, standing together to force Bus Queensland to the table.

When we fight, we win. Drivers at Bus Queensland and across the state are continuing the push for safety at work and improved standards, building on wins like these to secure a better future for the industry.

Your TWU member-led bargaining team from Trident Security Services, Sunshine Coast, met with Trident last week for the sixth round of EA negotiations.

Trident has shamefully gone back on an in-principle agreement for guaranteed working-hours, adding last-minute caveats that would leave many workers out of this claim, but Trident workers stood strong against this walk-back attempt.

Trident members remain firm in their demand for more secure, guaranteed hours, and these workers are prepared to take whatever action necessary to secure fair hours and conditions ✊
