Every year, worksites across Australia raise the MATES flag to show their commitment to mental health and su***de prevention.

Flying the flag is a visible reminder that looking out for your mates is just as important as looking after their physical safety.

A huge congratulations to the Darling Downs Hospital and Health Services Maintenance and Engineering Division on achieving MATES Accreditation through their commitment to rolling out the MATES program across their workforce.

Brett and Dave recently caught up with the team at their BBQ and fundraiser, celebrating this fantastic milestone while raising funds to support the work of MATES in Construction.

Meet Georgia, part of the MATES in Construction Qld-NT team in Darwin.

Georgia grew up around this industry. Her family is embedded in construction across the Northern Territory, so the early starts, the site talk, the long stretches away from home, none of it needs explaining to her.

That matters when someone's doing it tough. Georgia is easy to talk to and hard to shock. She listens without judgement, she doesn't rush you, and she sticks around. She's a qualified social worker, which means she knows how to get people connected to the right help, but what workers notice first is that she's someone who understands where they're coming from.

If you see Georgia on site or she gives you a call, you're in good hands.
