💜HSUWA Members are currently negotiating a new Union Agreement with Silverchain. During negotiations, HSUWA Delegates represent their colleagues at the bargaining table, attending meetings, advocating for improvements to pay and conditions and providing evidence and experience to support workers' claims. In support of these amazing Delegates who have taken the time to serve on the Bargaining Committee, HSUWA Members wore purple and sent messages of support!

✊Solidarity with HSUWA Members at Silverchain!

Last Friday, HSUWA united with our Australian Medical Association (WA) and Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation WA colleagues after the release of the Auditor General's report into the implementation of the Infant, Child and Adolescent System Transformation Program (transformation program).

The report found what Members have experienced: that progress has been slow, and only 1 of 32 recommendations from the ICA Taskforce has been implemented.

The HSUWA and our union colleagues are calling for urgent action, including the release of a comprehensive public implementation plan for all recommendations, with clear timelines, funding commitments, and accountable agencies.

HSUWA Secretary Naomi McCrae reiterated the consistent advocacy of Members: “You cannot transform child and adolescent mental health without the workforce to deliver it.”

This week, Members from all three unions will meet to discuss further advocacy and next steps.

📸ANMF WA State Secretary Romina Raschilla, AMA (WA) President Dr Kyle Hoath, HSUWA Secretary Naomi McCrae, HSUWA President and Senior Clinical Psychologist Craig Russell stand together to push for progress for the young people of WA.

Last week HSUWA Members working as Mortuary Technicians at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital stopped work to improve their employer's proposal for 24/7 rosters. A change from day and afternoon hours to night shift hours has a significant impact on an employee’s work, life commitments and routine, so Members are seeking parameters to ensure the workforce is well supported.

Congratulations and solidarity with these Members who are united at 100% HSUWA Membership!

Young workers are leading the charge when it comes to union membership. If you've been thinking about joining, now's the time!

Young workers are leading the charge when it comes to joining their union and winning change in their workplace.

It's no surprise, either, because young workers know they need to band together to have the power to change the status quo because the status quo has been growing inequality.

This week is your last chance to support Allied Health Professionals working at Joondalup Health Campus. These dedicated health workers need your help to submit a strong petition to State Parliament to ask that Ramsay Health Care reconsider current Allied Health staffing levels at one of Perth's busiest public hospitals.
