“During our time in Antananarivo, Madagascar, we often made trips downtown to hold open-airs. On one of our trips a man ran towards me from behind, ripping my necklace off my neck. As I watched him running into the distance, I recalled the familial and cultural significances the necklace carried and began to feel anger and sadness. But recognizing the scheme of the enemy at that moment I began to pray, asking God for His perspective. I began to gain His heart. My heart was not broken because I had just lost something precious but because God’s heart was broken. Some friends and I began to pray aloud in the city, proclaiming the goodness of God even in the midst of evil and forgiving this man, asking God to bring deeper conviction and understanding of his sin: to see it for what it truly is and how it aches the heart of God.” – Joanna Seul, USA

“While we where in Madagascar, we did a lot of public gospel presentations. The problem was, that most people there don’t speak English and we did not speak French or Malagasy. Yet, every time, God provided a translator so that we could share His good news. During the open-airs, we saw many people give their lives to Jesus and healed. God sees our needs and theirs. He knows how to make a way.” Esther Noort, Holland

“I was given the opportunity to help lead a school mural in a village in Nepal. The significance was that it was going to replace an already painted picture of a Hindu God. While praying, we got words such as joy, light, fire, rivers, and mountains, describing the Psalm I had read that same morning: Psalm 98. After finishing the mural, there were things that the locals got out of the painting that we did not intend to put in, one example being the birds that were painted that represented God and His Spirit. None of us knew that! God was the real designer of the mural, and He chose us to partner with Him to leave a lasting impression of who God is.” – Melanie Sawatzky, Canada

“God brought us to the specific unreached people group we had prayed for in our lecture phase. This people group practice ancestral worship. I shared a testimony highlighting choice. Speaking to this village of all He has drastically changed in my life, because I chose Him as Lord of my life. We later found out, the way we spoke of the role of choice in giving Jesus all, was a perspective they had never heard, before we arrived. The village repented of the idolatry they had taken part in. The forgiveness of Jesus washed them clean. Throughout all the village, the choice of dedication to Jesus alone was made.” – Charlotte Gooseman, USA

“One Saturday morning after the preaching had concluded, our contact had brought 40 people that were really sick to the front and sat them in a big circle and said, "pray." Once we lined them up, the team was able to split up to lay hands on each and every person. We all came together and the power of God fell strong. As you looked around, you could see faith growing and miracles happening. At the end of 1 hour, we were done praying and 34 of the 40 were instantly healed. This was a great time as a team to come together and just show Jesus' heart to heal. We also were able to take along side of us, som locals and show them how to lay hands on the sick, use their faith, and see God do His works!” – Joshua Hamilton, USA

“We stayed in a remote village Church for part of our time in Nepal. The pastor's wife and her friends cooked for us. God was drawing me to them but I did not know how to connect as they only spoke a couple words of English. Then God gave me the opportunity to learn some worship songs in Nepali with the youth worship team and translate them to English. Later, these women heard me practicing and chimed in with joy! After that we spent much time singing and serving together and I realised that God's love can surpass every boundary.” – Melody Wittwer, Australia

“Before outreach started, I imagined that we would be mainly using artistic skills and the spoken words to build relationships with people. Working in rice fields and fixing stone paths in Nepal was quite unexpected. Before we left the village, the elders spoke to us of how encouraged they were by what we had done, in a way that we did not realize. This showed me how God speaks in many ways. Actions can also speak more than words.” – Tess Glik, Israel

“While in Asia, we had been visiting a Muslim orphanage, and a school. At first, we weren’t allowed to talk about God or the gospel, but during worship and intercession, God gave one of the team members the idea of a ‘hidden gospel puppet show’. I wrote it out with God and we put it together. It was a simple puppet show about a king and his kingdom. We were able to show the puppet show and share the story at schools, which allowed us to plant the seed of truth in their minds and spirits.” – Hollie Roselle, USA
