Offshore Alliance members across all INPEX facilities are commencing protected industrial action today!

Until further notice, union members are downing tools between 6am-8am and 6pm-8pm every day, and will be undertaking a number of work bans, after INPEX failed to take EA negotiations seriously. If INPEX hasn't committed to genuine bargaining by the end of next week, industrial action will ramp up on 11 June.

Our members are sick of the lack of progress and will continue to engage in industrial action until progress in brgaining is made.

Our members generate billions in profit for INPEX - it's time they received their fair share!

Happy WA Day! 🦢💛

We're lucky to call Western Australia home a State built on hard work, strong communities, and some of the most beautiful landscapes in the world.

Whether you're enjoying a well earned day off with family and friends, or you're one of the many people keeping essential services and workplaces running today, we hope you have a fantastic WA Day.

A big thank you to everyone working today!

Week 2... Done! 🚙💨

Over the past two weeks, our team has gone to Water Corporation depots across WA to answer questions and get feedback on the proposed enterprise agreement going up for vote this Thursday. It’s been great to be onsite seeing the strength in numbers of our AWU membership as well as welcoming new members to the union!

This week, we're heading to Northam, Merredin, Narrogin and Albany right before the vote opens up on 28/05/2026. The offer on the table is decent however, there is still work to be done in the longer term alongside the upcoming negotiations for the civil framework review.

If you have any questions regarding the enterprise agreement proposal, voting or other enquiries, get in contact with your organiser!

FMG, it’s time to bargain for a modern agreement.

You can’t claim to value your workforce while refusing to deliver the pay and conditions workers deserve. Fortescue talks a big game about listening to their employees, but when it comes to real bargaining, fair wages and secure conditions, workers are still waiting.

Workers at FMG deserve a fair shot at negotiating agreements that reflect modern standards and the realities of today’s cost of living. That’s not unreasonable it’s just common sense.

Workers in mining keep this industry running. They deserve agreements that provide secure jobs, fair rosters, decent pay rises, and conditions that recognise the hard work and sacrifices made on site every day.

If FMG truly wants to be in touch with its workforce, then stop attacking workers’ rights and start bargaining in good faith.

AWU Water Corporation Roadshow! 🚙 💨

The AWU Roadshow is officially underway, with our team travelling across WA to speak directly with Water Corp members about the upcoming EBA vote.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be visiting depots and workplaces to answer questions, hear feedback, and make sure members have the information they need before casting their vote. 🗳️

From discussions so far, the proposed agreement is a decent offer that delivers fair pay and improvements for our members' work conditions while still fighting for long-term real improvements in the upcoming negotiations for the civil framework.

This roadshow is about ensuring every member has their say and understands what the proposed EBA means for them, their families, and our community.

Every week workers contact the union after problems at work have already escalated.

The strongest protection workers have is being organised early, standing together with your workmates, and building collective strength before issues arise.

Union membership means being part of that collective. It’s how workers build the power to improve wages, safety and conditions for everyone, and it’s what makes support and representation possible when members need it.

Don’t wait until you’re isolated and under pressure. Join your union today.

What can an AWU Industrial Officer do for you?

This week, the AWU WA Industrial Team attended a careers fair at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, connecting with law students and future legal professionals eager to explore pathways beyond traditional law firms.

Our Industrial Officers spoke with students about the vital role unions play in standing up for workers, representing members in the Fair Work Commission, providing industrial and legal support, reviewing EBAs and fighting for fair outcomes on the job. A career in law doesn’t have to mean corporate offices and billable hours. It can mean standing shoulder to shoulder with working people and making a real difference every day.

Are you having issues on your site? Get in contact with your organiser today to see how our team can help you.

The solidarity of our members was on full display this May Day 2026.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended and marched proudly with us this year.

May Day is about celebrating our movement’s many victories and struggles. It’s about secure jobs, fair pay, and safer workplaces.

These things don't just happen, it’s because of union members like you standing up, speaking out and sticking together.

Can’t wait to see you once again at May Day in 2027.
