ASU members like you have made it clear: Your work has changed - but the rules haven’t.

Our workplace laws are out of date.

That’s why we’ve made a major submission to the Parliamentary Inquiry into the National Employment Standards, calling for a reset of workplace laws so they protect your time, your health and your ability to plan your life.

Together, we’re pushing for workplace laws that reflect the reality of work today and the future we deserve.

Work from home campaign update:

We’ve stepped up to fight for workplace conditions by appearing before the Fair Work Commission to win a Work From Home (WFH) model clause.
As we've seen from our WFH case, the voices of ASU members are powerful. Join the call for stronger rights for people who work from home.

It's a good habit to check your pay slip each time to make sure you've been paid the correct amount of hours, and had the correct penalty rates applied for shifts during public holidays and unsociable hours.
If you don't think it's correct, members can call our Member Services Centre for advice.

Members campaigned and won so that whether you're on leave or off shift, workers have the right to disconnect.

Employees have the right to refuse contact outside their working hours unless that refusal is unreasonable. This means an employee can refuse to monitor, read or respond to contact from an employer or a third party.
