For more than 90 growers, viticulturists and w**e producers from across Western Australia, the question on 13 August wasn’t simply whether to keep or remove a vineyard; It was a more difficult question: where is the future value in the vineyard, and what needs to happen to protect it?

That was the conversation at Pause, Preserve or Remove? Vineyard Management in Transition, a half-day workshop held in Margaret River and streamed live to attendees across the state.

This workshop was delivered in partnership with Margaret River W**e and was enabled by the W**e Industry Partnership, an industry-led initiative supported by the WA Government

W**es of Western Australia’s 2026 Connecting with Sustainability Survey is now open: https://us3.list-manage.com/survey?u=3709911f6f2f65a9c552bdc8d&id=571c529a51&e=*|UNIQID|*

Estimated completion time: 8–10 minutes.

Building on the 2024 industry baseline, this survey will help track how WA producers are engaging with carbon measurement, biodiversity, water security and climate adaptation across the sector.

The findings will help identify practical opportunities, future funding priorities and locally relevant support programs that make sustainability more achievable for w**e businesses of all sizes.

Your input will help guide the next stage of sustainable w**e production in Western Australia.
