Enactus is an international, student run, non-profit organisation which aims to create positive, sustainable change in society through the positive power of business. SIFE Curtin has now changed to Enactus Curtin University to represent our commitment to Entrpreneurial action and further empower community projects.
The organisation is present in over 39 countries around the world, engaging students from over 1500 universities. Enactus Curtin University is a team of students from Curtin dedicated to making a difference in their community. Throughout the year, Enactus Curtin University runs projects aligned with United Nation's sustainable development goals targeting the most pressing issues facing the community. Our current project, "Suited Up" allows us to help and support homeless and unemployed individuals in Western Australia. We are partnered with a number of local charities, outreach centers and Curtin Volunteers with this initiative. We receive the clothing from staff and students who would donate their clothes. We conduct workshops to help them build up their resume and connect them with potential employers. Through these workshops, our candidates will then be more confident in pursuing employment. In addition to the workshops, the clothes we receive after selection are resold through Curtin Market Days. Clothing that are not resell-able would be refurbished into beanies, glove, scarfs and blankets that will also be served to help the homeless.
