MSWA At MSWA, our focus is on life, not limits - whether you dream big or find joy in the little things. MSWA is a non-government, not-for-profit organisation.

MSWA provides vital support and services to people living with neurological conditions in Western Australia. This includes people living with multiple sclerosis (MS), stroke, Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease, motor neurone disease, and acquired brain injury, to name a few. MSWA, formerly known as The Multiple Sclerosis Society of Western Australia, was formed in 1972 by a group of people

with MS committed to helping others access information and support. Today, MSWA has a team of 1,000 staff who all work passionately to provide the best possible care to people right across the metro area and regional centres of Western Australia. The money we raise through our fundraising efforts, government grants and other income generating programs goes directly to providing a range of supports and services to people living with all neurological conditions. Our team of experienced nursing and allied health professionals provide information and a range of supports from the time of diagnosis. All MSWA programs are delivered in accordance with both the Disability Service Standards and our own service standards. In addition to our direct care services, we also provide funding for vital research projects into neurological conditions. MSWA plays a vital role in educating the broader community, liaising with government and other relevant bodies on related issues, and advocating for the rights of all people with neurological conditions and disability in general.

A sneak peek inside MSWA Shenton Park! 🏡✨

After years of planning and construction, our residents have finally had the chance to step inside and tour their future home for the very first time.

The MSWA Shenton Park High-Support Accommodation marks an exciting new chapter in neurological care, featuring 20 state-of-the-art apartments, each with a bedroom, ensuite, kitchen, living area and private courtyard or balcony.

There’s plenty more to come as we get closer to the official opening, where we’ll be sharing more of the incredible features and spaces that make MSWA Shenton Park so special. But for now, we’ll let the photos (and the reactions) do the talking! 📸

MSWA gratefully acknowledges the Western Australian State Government financial contribution to the project.

✨It's Speech Pathology Week! ✨

This year's theme is communication creates possibility. Not just the possibility to speak, but the possibility to connect, learn, grow, belong, choose, participate and thrive. For Elena, that possibility became even more meaningful after she was diagnosed with motor neurone disease at just 17. With the support of her MSWA Speech Pathologist, Bradley, she found new ways to communicate, including through her eye-gaze machine.

This Speech Pathology Week, we celebrate the expertise, care and advocacy of our MSWA Speech Pathologists, and the difference communication support can make to independence and wellbeing.

MSWA was pleased to welcome Senator Fatima Payman to the MSWA Wilson Services Centre.

It was a valuable opportunity to share the experiences of people living with neurological conditions, discuss the impacts of recent NDIS reforms and highlight the importance of access to disease-modifying treatments (DMTs) through the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS). These are all vital to ensuring our neurological community can continue to live well ✅

Thank you, Senator Payman, for taking the time to visit and for your interest in the wellbeing of our neuro community. At MSWA, we will continue to advocate to ensure the lived experiences of people living with neurological conditions are understood and shared at state and federal government levels.

We're beyond excited to announce our partnership with the West Coast Eagles AFLW ahead of the upcoming AFLW season 🦅

Research shows that 3 out of 4 Australians diagnosed with MS are women. This makes our partnership particularly meaningful as we champion opportunities for women both on and off the field ✅

Our partnership resonated deeply with MSWA Client Shannan, who has been supported by MSWA for more than 20 years and has been a proud Eagles supporter for just as long.

💬 "It’s exciting to see MSWA and the AFLW join forces, bringing together two important parts of my life."

You'll have the chance to cheer on the West Coast Eagles, by joining our giveaway for home games this AFLW season! 🎉
