Always good to get a different view of our MGs… although sometimes the underside reveals things we’d rather not know about! 😅

And a reminder that tomorrow is the FZ & Modern Daffodil Day (Rob Roy) and Auto Classico 2026 at Mailing Road. Further detail on the Club Events Calendar.

Another great excuse to get the MG out and about. 🌼🏁

Most manufacturers recommend replacing your tyres after 5 or 6 years so best get your money’s worth out of them before they hit their use-by date… 😄

Entries are now open for Comps 13 & 14 – the METEC Motorkhana and Khanacross, via the Motorsport Australia Portal.

Join us on Saturday 5 September for one of the most popular events on the MGCCV competition calendar.

Ever wanted to see your MG from a completely different perspective?

This weekend, the MGA and MGB Registers are holding their Open Bonnet & Hoist Mornings.

It’s your chance to get up close and personal with the bits of your MG you don’t normally see — suspension, exhausts, chassis, mysterious leaks… and possibly a few things you’d rather not know about.

Club Members are welcome to join:

MGA Register — Saturday 22 August
MGB Register — Sunday 23 August

Further details are in the slides.

Come along, put your MG in the air and discover what’s really been going on underneath all these years.

Further to our last update on the Winton Motorkhana results, provisional results for Saturday’s Winton Sprint and Regularity events have now been posted.

It seems some people are fast, and some people are regular… but rarely do the two mix. 🤣

Our provisional top three in each event are:

SPRINT

🥇 Tony Vollebregt (MG ZR) – 1:39.91
🥈 Rod Wells (Midget) – 1:41.41
🥉 Shane White (MGB) – 1:41.59

REGULARITY

🥇 Ashley Hunter (MG TF160) – 0.23 sec
🥈 Greg Mouritz (MGB) – 0.39 sec
🥉 Peter Andrian (MGF) – 0.72 sec

Congratulations to all our competitors on some great driving across the day.

And, as one of the organisers was quick to point out, it wasn’t the MGs leaving oil on the track this time…

We’ll take that as another great result for the weekend.

What a weekend at Winton!

Provisional Results for Comp13 - Winton Motorkhana have now been posted on the Competition Page. vic.mgcc.com.au/competition . Sprint and Reg Results will be up soon.

The All British Weekend delivered two full days of competition, laughs, running repairs, the odd recovery and some glorious weather.

Saturday saw the Sprint and Regularity competitors take to the National Circuit. There was plenty of fast, close and entertaining motorsport throughout the day.

Sunday swapped horsepower at speed for horsepower sideways, with the Motorkhana providing a very different challenge. If you managed to remember the patterns you probably finished well in the rankings...

Of course, an All British Weekend isn't just about the competition.

Saturday night's dinner at the Benalla Bowls Club was a great chance to get out of the race suits, enjoy a meal and catch up with friends and competitors away from the track. These weekends are as much about the social side as the stopwatch, and it was fantastic to see everyone enjoying the night together.

A huge thank you to the MSCA for putting on another terrific All British Sprint event and to all the officials, volunteers and helpers who made the weekend possible. Thank you

It was also great to share Winton with competitors and spectators from the many other British marques represented over the weekend.

Thanks to everyone who joined us — competitors, officials, volunteers, supporters and friends. See you at the next one!

Our Provisional Outright Top 3 for the Motorkhana are

1st - Russell Seymour (MGA) 174.07sec
2nd - John Hastie (MGF) 176.25sec
3rd - Wil Reynolds (MGF) 178.11sec

Guest speaker Tony Morrissey has spent many years commentating on motorsport, both in the media and at racetracks around the country. Tony turned his attention to a very different subject for his talk, delivering an entertaining but informative presentation on prostate cancer—what to look out for, the importance of early detection, and how catching it early can greatly improve the chances of successful treatment.

The online raffle winner was Lorna Chapman.

If, like me, you occasionally struggle to remember where you live, then next weekend’s Winton Motorkhana patterns may require a level of navigation normally reserved for the Dakar Rally. 😂

The patterns are now available on our Competition page, so get studying.

Remember, speed is important… but only after you’ve worked out where the hell you’re supposed to be going. Isn't that right Louise. 🏁
