Our thoughts are with the family, friends and fellow competitors of Graeme Wiebenga following the tragic incident at Calder Park on Sunday.

While many of our members may not have known Graeme personally, we all share the same passion for motorsport and understand the friendships, camaraderie and sense of community that come with it. Graeme passed away doing something he clearly loved, and his loss will be felt across the Victorian motorsport community.

On behalf of the MG Car Club Victoria, we extend our sincere condolences to all who knew and loved him.

Rest in peace, Graeme.

It is with great sadness that we share the news that a member of our MSCA family, Graeme Wiebenga, passed away following a critical incident at Calder Park Raceway on Sunday.

A member of the FPV Club, Graeme first joined us at our Come and Try Day in December last year and became quickly hooked. He had a genuine passion for motorsport and loved spending time on track in his beloved AU Falcon. His enthusiasm and enjoyment of every event will be remembered by all who had the privilege of sharing the track with him.

Our hearts go out to Graemeโ€™s family, friends and loved ones at this incredibly difficult time.

Graemeโ€™s family have established a GoFundMe page to assist with funeral costs. If you would like to join the MSCA in supporting them, please click the link below.

We would also like to thank our officials, first responders and everyone at the event for their professionalism, compassion and support. We have been deeply touched by the care shown by our MSCA family and the wider motorsport community.

Graeme was doing something he truly loved, and he will be greatly missed.

Rest peacefully, Graeme

Provisional results for MGCCV Competition Event No8 - Rob Roy Hillclimb (Interclub No2) have been posted.

After a foggy and chilly start to the day, the sun eventually broke through, drying much of the circuit for the later runs. Despite the improving conditions, the cold surface remained surprisingly slippery and caught out more than a few competitors.

Following a timed practice session on the long (chicane) circuit, competitors tackled two competitive runs on both the long and short tracks. The best time from each course was combined to determine the overall results.

Paul Slawinski (MGB) proved untouchable, taking the provisional win by an impressive 1.6 seconds. Russell Seymour (MGA) claimed provisional second place, while Peter Andrian (MGF) rounded out the podium in provisional third.

It was a fiercely contested event, with just 0.86 seconds separating second through to seventh place. MGFs and MGTFs were particularly well represented, filling six of the top ten positions.

Congratulations also to Paige Hunter, who was the recipient of the Fastest Woman of the Day award.

Full provisional results are available now on the Competition Page. https://vic.mgcc.com.au/competition

President Paul was overseas, so VP Tony Lupton was in control.

Michael Kip (Kippy) from the Triumph Sports Owners Association spoke about the upcoming "All British Weekend at Winton Raceway in August.

Our invited guest came down with the flu, so plan B sprang into action, and Rod Wilson gave us a fascinating account of his many jobs in the theatre industry, and how it took him to working up and down the east coast and Tasmania.

Wayne Rushton put up a few interesting images of a motorbike meet at Rob Roy in 1991, a year before MGCCV took control of the venue. These were shared by the BSA Motorcycle Owners Association.

The online raffle winner was Rodger Chapman.

At the Rob Roy OST, Graeme Adams took it upon himself to provide some additional navigation aids, laying down a set of unmistakable traction ending mud lines through the grass for those following behind. ๐Ÿคฃ

Thanks for your service, Graeme!

Special mention to those competitors and spectators who had their first OST experience today. We hope you had fun and would love to see you again at the Macedon OST on July 12th. Also to our resident tractor, who spent most of the day rescuing stranded MGFs and TFs from various gullies around the property. Great job!

A huge thank you to the MGA Register for putting on another fantastic day. The warming fire, endless hot drinks and all-day BBQ were very welcome.

Congratulations to our provisional outright podium:

๐Ÿฅˆ Graeme Adams (MG Midget) โ€“ 52 flags
๐Ÿฅ‰ Brett Herlihy (MG TF) โ€“ 46 flags

Well done to all competitors who braved Mike Ellsmore's sadistic courses and and also the officials and volunteers who made the day possible.
