One of the organizations we support with our Gift Quilt program is Odyssey House. We have donated hundreds of Quilts to them for over 30 years, that are presented to those residents who have successfully completed the program

Dear Quilters,
We are writing to you together as recipients of your Quilts to let you know what your work has come to mean in our lives.
When we first choose our Quilts, something about them spoke to us.
Some of us were drawn to the pastel pops of colour,or the neutral colours,the pinks and browns.some of us choose because of the flora and fauna and because it felt like nature. Some of us chose because it was darker and had stars on it . What we knew was that it is a big deal picking your blanket, we went back two or three times, but we just knew it was the one when we saw it.
Over time our Quilts have come to represent more than just fabric. The symbolize somewhere we never thought we'd get to again It became a celebration of ourselves and all the hard work we've done, and it represents starting something and finishing it. It's the greatest achievement and the start of a new identity and life.
The Quilts hold stories of where we've been.
Stories and friendships and strong connections. Memories of having your people around you. And that we didn't give up. They also hold stories of where we are hoping to go. They remind us to keep setting goals. We feel so proud and we are glad we have a reminder of how far we have come.
When we think about what you hoped that we would feel when you made these Quilts, we imagine you hoped that we would feel strengthened, hopeful and that you get to play a part in someone's journey and are standing beside us.
Your generosity affected us in many ways. Whenever we look at our Quilts we are amazed of how much time and effort is put into them. It reminds us that there are good people in the world and they inspire us to help others.
For some of us they remind us of our grandmothers who make things like this. We feel closer to them. Our Quilts feel like shields and trophies. They set a standard. The say "You deserve this".
We want to acknowledge your generosity, caring, support and hope.
You take part in one of our biggest milestones in the program that we work towards. This moment fills us with so much anticipation.
We feel so proud in this moment, standing with our peers receiving our Quilts.
