Today I caught up with Jordan, a cheeky young woman with some big ideas and an even bigger heart 💜

Having met a few weeks ago at the Shoalhaven Disability Expo, it turns out she was a very early supporter of ours!🧚‍♀️

Not only was she the unknown artist behind a beautiful tribute piece delivered to us in the days following Airlie's passing,
she had also written to local MP's expressing her wish to help with accessibility considerations for our playground, being a wheelchair user herself.

As our new honorary Accessibility Advisor, we discussed parking, pathways and all those little "speedbumps" most of us don't see.

We appreciate your help Jordan, where your valuable lived experience and ideas will help shape a more inclusive space, for everyone!

💜 HAVE YOUR SAY – DREXEL PARK SENSORY PLAYGROUND 🦋🫧
We’re excited to share that Shoalhaven City Council is inviting community feedback to help inform the design of a sensory playground at Drexel Park, North Nowra, being developed in partnership with the Airlie Fairy Foundation.
We want this playground to be a place where ALL children can play, explore, connect and feel included, no matter their abilities or needs. 🌈

When your new to building inclusive playgrounds, collaboration and guidance from an absolute powerhouse in this space is immeasurable!

After her daughter's tragic passing in 2006, Justine founded the Touched by Olivia Foundation.
Pioneering the way we perceive accessibility & inclusiveness, for near 2 decades they have been a driving force behind legislative and design standard changes,
and have recently completed thier 55th Livi's Place playground! 🤯

We are both humbled and excited to join them in building better communities, for everyone.

- The future is bright, because it is lit by those who have walked the dark roads before us

Big news, our very first community-focused project is now up and running!

🧚‍♀️ The WINGS & SWINGS PLAYGROUND INITIATIVE is an Australia-wide program, envisioned as a collaborative framework for new and exciting regional development opportunities.
This initiative aligns government, local business and public support with charitable values to deliver much-needed inclusive community infrastructure.

And our first Wings & Swings playground build will soon be underway!!!

🧚‍♀️On Friday we were delighted to join the wonderful students and staff at North Nowra Public School in coming together to remember Airlie on her 8th birthday.

Within a day's notice they organised a celebration that Airlie herself would've absolutely loved!!🎉🌈🫧

Thankyou for sharing this day and Airlie's everlasting memory & spirit with us!

A little story of heartbreak and hope in the current issue of that's life!

"Every moment of every day she is there.
Sometimes lifting me up, giving me strength and guiding me to do better.
Yet often, behind the smile you see, tearing away at my will, as I hear her voice somewhere off in the distance.

A constant war between despair, guilt and a defiant resilience.

Sharing this journey is not from a place of vanity or hopelessness, but hope itself.
Hope that Airlie will always be remembered.
That her life, and death, has meaning.
That what is good may last eternal, and what is bad...may not always be.

The world gets better when ordinary people choose to do extraordinary things.

So keep going, keep moving forward."

Her dad, Corey, was driving home from work when he got the call no parent wants to hear: Airlie had passed away.
