Taranee was unable to attend the Annual Nowra Toastmasters Changeover and Awards Night. However, we are delighted to share that he was awarded the Most Improved award in recognition of his dedication, growth, and outstanding progress throughout the year. He was finally presented with his award at the club meeting on 16 September 2026, where members were able to celebrate this well-deserved achievement with him.

What Happens at a Toastmasters Meeting?
At Toastmasters, we like to think of our meetings as organised fun. Every meeting follows a structured agenda and is timed with impressive precision. After all, where else can you be applauded for finishing exactly on time? There are a variety of meeting roles that help the evening run smoothly, with some requiring a little preparation beforehand, including speeches and Table Topics®.

Speeches
Members can speak on almost any topic that interests them while progressing through educational pathways designed to develop communication and leadership skills. Each speech is evaluated against specific objectives, providing valuable feedback and helping speakers grow with every presentation.

Table Topics®
For those who enjoy thinking on their feet, Table Topics offer the challenge of delivering an impromptu speech based on a surprise question or topic. It's a fantastic way to build confidence and quick-thinking skills. No preparation required... just courage!

Coming in October
Nowra Toastmasters will be hosting its annual International Speech, Evaluation Speech and Table Topics Contest. These contests showcase some of our members' best speaking talents and provide an exciting opportunity to compete in a supportive environment.

Our regular meetings play an important role in contest preparation, helping members build confidence, refine their speaking skills, and master one of the most challenging aspects of public speaking: staying within time limits!

Whether you're looking to become a better speaker, a stronger leader, or simply more confident in everyday conversations, Toastmasters offers a welcoming place to learn, practise and grow.
