Deep Time is an interactive tool the Story Lab team within ABC News created to help all Australians better understand the ancient history of our continent and its First Nations peoples.

It provides a glimpse into the ancient history of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who have occupied this land for more than 65,000 years.

At the heart of this project are the voices of First Nations knowledge holders who share stories from Country. Deep Time brings together ancient knowledge and modern science, drawing audiences into the story through four key mechanisms:

➡️'Tell me a story': A sweeping overview of the story of First Nations people
➡️Time: A visual snapshot of just how far back this story goes
➡️Place: Find Deep Time stories near you
➡️Topics: Dive deep into areas of audience and educational interest
