Anti-Discrimination NSW is hosting a free information session in Nowra on 26 November. This is an opportunity to learn more about the state government body and the services it provides under the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW). The session will enable participants to recognise when unfair treatment may be against the law and give accurate information to members of the community about their rights and responsibilities under anti-discrimination law.

It was a privilege to attend the Shoalhaven Nepalese Community’s Teej Festival on during the weekend.

The event was a beautiful celebration of Nepali culture, bringing people together through music, food, dancing and community. It was also a poignant opportunity to acknowledge the lives lost in the recent floods and support the ongoing recovery efforts.

The festival included fundraising for flood recovery, showing the strength and generosity of the Nepali community during a difficult time.

We were also pleased to invite some of the essential workers we have supported to move to the Shoalhaven this year through The Welcome Experience. It was wonderful to share the celebration with them and enjoy such a welcoming community event together.

Lifeline is running a compassionate and supportive space for people who are grieving following a su***de loss.

The group offers an opportunity to connect with others who have experienced a similar loss, share experiences and feelings, and access support in a welcoming, non-judgemental environment.

The group will run online on the last Monday of each month, starting on Monday 28 September.
