🧡 A vision that began more than 15 years ago has now become a reality.
A new dedicated Palliative Care Facility at Wyong Hospital has officially opened, marking an incredible milestone for the Central Coast community and for the Lions who have helped make it possible.
The Elsie’s Retreat Project, driven by dedicated volunteers and supported by The Lions Club of Wyoming-East Gosford Centennial Inc. and Lions Clubs across the Central Coast, has spent years advocating for better end-of-life care for local families.
And the result is something truly special. 🩵
The beautiful new facility includes 12 palliative care bedrooms with ensuites, communal and meeting spaces, and a peaceful outdoor area designed to provide comfort and dignity for patients, families and loved ones.
It is a wonderful example of what can be achieved when Lions, passionate community members and government work together towards a shared vision.
Most importantly, it is the realisation of Elsie’s dream.
We’re incredibly proud of the Lions and volunteers who have dedicated so much time, energy and heart to this project, and of everyone who has helped turn 15 years of advocacy into a lasting legacy for the Central Coast.
This is what Lions do: listen to their communities, champion the causes that matter and keep working until change happens. 🦁💙
Congratulations to everyone involved in this remarkable achievement.
