What a fantastic afternoon at our May Luncheon.
A full house at Fort Scratchley came together for an insightful and timely conversation on how we leverage investment in the Hunter defence ecosystem — and the opportunities ahead for our region.

A huge thank you to our panel: Joel Fitzgibbon, Professor Alex Zelinsky AO, Craig McWilliam and Andrew Chapman, expertly facilitated by Tim Owen, for sharing their perspectives on defence, industry capability and the role the Hunter can play on a national and global stage.

Key takeaways were clear — the Hunter is uniquely positioned to benefit from significant defence investment, but success will rely on strong collaboration between industry, government and education, as well as local businesses being ready to step up, innovate and engage.

Thank you to our event sponsor Newcastle Airport for your support, and to our business profiler Jaimie Abbott for sharing your story. We also acknowledge our partners, media team and the team at Fort Scratchley for delivering such a seamless event.

And of course, thank you to our members and guests — your ongoing support is what makes these events so valuable.

There is real momentum in this space, and real opportunity for local businesses to be part of what comes next.
