Evolution is a natural part of growth, and today we are sharing a significant step forward.

Atwea College will be phasing out our Training Services division by 30 June 2026.

This is a significant change, and we recognise the impact it has on the people who have poured their hearts into supporting our students. Your dedication, expertise, and care have made a real difference in countless lives.

This is not a reflection on your work. The quality of your delivery, the commitment you've shown, and the outcomes you've achieved are genuinely valued.

This decision is about where Atwea can focus our energy and resources as we return to our roots: supporting young people through Alesco Secondary College and delivering accessible community learning.

To our current Training Services students: Your journey matters deeply to us. You will be fully supported to complete your qualifications alongside trusted, quality partners.

To our Training Services staff: Your contribution to Atwea's story will always be recognised. Atwea's Training Services has supported hundreds of students to gain qualifications, build skills, and transition into meaningful employment. Thank you for the work you've done, the students you've supported, and the communities you've served.

We're building Atwea's next chapter – and we'll do it with care for everyone involved.

Not all support looks the same. Sometimes it’s helping a student sit their first practice exam. Sometimes it’s guiding them through a hands-on task. Sometimes it’s just being another steady adult in the room.

Across our campuses, students are working toward real goals: finishing school, building confidence, and stepping into what’s next. And the right support at the right time can make all the difference.

We’re looking for volunteers who want to be part of that. No teaching experience needed. Just consistency, patience, and a willingness to show up.

If you’ve ever thought about giving back, this is a practical way to do it, and you’ll see the impact first-hand. We have opportunities across multiple campuses and locations. We’ll help find the right fit for you.

We have some fantastic news to share from our Newcastle West Campus! This month, we are celebrating 10 students graduating from the SHB50121 Diploma of Beauty Therapy 💅✨

In an even more exciting milestone, all 10 graduates have already secured employment! We are incredibly proud of the dedication and hard work each student has shown throughout their journey.

A huge shout out goes to our trainer, Alison Yarnold, for leading such a successful class and preparing these students for the industry.

On Wednesday 18 March, our Head Office came alive as staff and students gathered to celebrate Harmony Week.

Highlights from the day:
🧡 Global flavours: Everyone enjoyed a feast of international cuisines.
🧡 African drumming: We were treated to a high-energy performance and hands-on lessons.
🧡 Inclusion in action: Participants joined an Auslan (ASL) workshop to learn new ways to communicate and connect.
🧡 Cultural insights: Staff and students shared stories and information about diverse traditions and backgrounds.

This event was a wonderful reminder that when we share our stories and respect our differences, we create a stronger, more connected Hunter region.
