What a great way to finish BGANZ Botanic Gardens Week and National Volunteeer Week.
Volunteers at the May Grow the Garden Day planted 130 indigenous plants in the gilgais in the Boardwalk Area East. The Blue Devils were propagated by the Plant Nursery & Depot - Friends of the Melton Botanic Garden and Chocolate Lillies from Newport Lakes Native Nursery. We even pruned a few trees. The plantings over the last couple years have really taken off. The area is looking good with well formed paths to walk on.
Many thanks to everyone who helped including Julie and Stewart who distributed the Neutrog orders to members at the depot and in selling some nursery plants to customers who turned up from Melton and Bacchus Marsh.
We had 18 participants at the Nature Sketching Workshop. Many thanks to Dr. Kathleen Bagot for donating her time and material to run the workshop.

It is with much sadness that the RHSV has had to cancel our upcoming Gardener’s Day Out.
Many of our Garden club members bus in to this popular event from all over Victoria, however, due to the rising cost of diesel fuel, it has become too costly for those members to attend and our local numbers are low.
Rest assured we will reimburse all who have pre paid for this event.
