🚗🔒 Come on down to Melton Train Station today!

Members from Melton SES, Melton CFA, FRV, Victoria Police and V/Line are working together to help prevent number plate theft by fitting anti-theft screws to vehicle number plates.

This simple step makes it harder for offenders to steal your plates and helps protect local motorists from vehicle-related crime.

It’s a great example of emergency services and partner agencies working together to keep our community safer. 👏

Come down, say hello and have your number plates secured!

🚒🔥 Recruits are well on their way!

Monday night our recruits teamed up with Toolern Vale for a joint training night, learning grassfire tactics and working from the back deck of the Tanker. They practised running attacks, communicating with the driver and handling the hose while the truck was moving. These are core skills for fire season.

It's great to see how far they've come in only a few weeks of training. Proud of the effort and commitment from every one of them, and a big thanks to Toolern Vale and our trainers for giving up their Monday nights to pass on their knowledge. 💪

The VicEmergency app provides a centralised location for Victorians to access timely emergency information and warnings.

The app includes warnings and incident notifications for fire, flood, storm, earthquake, tsunami, weather warnings, shark sightings, beach closures and more.

It uses that information to provide incident summaries and warnings to help you make informed decisions about your safety.

You can download the app from the App Store https://apps.apple.com/au/app/vicemergency/id356559665, or Google Play https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.naturallybeing.fireready

In order to receive location specific app alerts when warnings are issued or incidents occur, you must create a watch zone - scan the QR above to learn how to set up your watch zone, and stay informed this summer!

We were very fortunate to have the Rapid Relief Team volunteers join us at Melton Fire Brigade on Monday night. 🧡

Our members were in for brigade photos, and the RRT crew came along and took care of the catering for the evening. It gave both organisations a chance to get to know each other, swap a few stories and learn more about the work we each do around Melton.

It is not a small thing to give up your evening to look after another group of volunteers, and the crew who came down did it with a smile. That kind of support, on and off the fireground, does not go unnoticed by our members.

Thank you to the Rapid Relief Team volunteers who came out to support us. We hope to see you again soon. 🚒
