Professor Dale Kent’s remarkable career has taken her across the world as one of Australia’s leading historians of the Italian Renaissance.
A former Head Prefect at Mac.Rob, Professor Kent went on to become an internationally respected author, lecturer and scholar, with fellowships and appointments spanning the United States and Europe, including Harvard University’s Center for Italian Renaissance Studies, Princeton, UC Berkeley and the Getty Centre.
Her acclaimed work on the Medici and Renaissance Florence helped shape international scholarship in the field, while her memoir, The Most I Could Be, reflects on ambition, fulfilment and the complexities of forging a meaningful life as a woman across generations.
Dale credits Mac.Rob with giving her the confidence and encouragement to pursue excellence across academia, music, debating and leadership – foundations that would shape an extraordinary intellectual career.
Congratulations to Professor Dale Kent on her 2026 induction to the prestigious Mac.Rob Portrait Gallery. ✨
