From stroke research to reconnecting with old school friends, there’s plenty happening across the Mac.Rob community in Term 4.

You’ve done the assignments and the practice exams; the early mornings and the late nights.

Now, as VCE exams approach, it’s time to trust yourselves and the work you’ve put in.

Take it one exam at a time, look after yourselves and support each other.

And remember that no single mark or result can capture everything you have achieved – or everything you are capable of achieving next. 🙏

As the Class of 2026 prepares for exams and life beyond Mac.Rob, there’s another important date to remember.

Applications for the Starting Tertiary Studies Bursary close Sunday 11 October. 📅

The bursary provides financial support to eligible students preparing to begin tertiary study, helping ease some of the costs that come with taking that important next step.

If you’re eligible, don’t leave it until the last minute.

What does your support make possible?

For a Mac.Rob student, it might mean the chance to pursue an academic opportunity they couldn’t otherwise access.

It might help with the transition to senior school or tertiary study. It could support a leadership opportunity, an ambitious project or an experience that helps a student discover what they are capable of.

Through scholarships, grants and bursaries, the Mac.Rob Foundation helps remove financial barriers and gives students greater freedom to pursue the opportunities in front of them.

None of it happens without our donors, alumni and Foundation community.

🎓 Congratulations to our 2026 Graduate/Postgraduate Scholarship recipient, Sandra Li!

Sandra is an MD-PhD student developing new treatments for stroke, with her research focused on work that could ultimately contribute to better treatments and outcomes for patients.

With support from the Mac.Rob Foundation, Sandra will have the opportunity to take her research beyond the laboratory and onto the international stage – presenting her work at conferences, learning from leaders in the field and building connections with the global scientific community.

“Receiving this grant means more than financial support – it gives me the opportunity to take my research beyond the laboratory and engage with the broader scientific community.

“I'm incredibly grateful to the donors whose generosity enables students like me to pursue opportunities that broaden our education and development. Their support not only invests in my journey as an emerging clinician-scientist, but also in the potential for my research to ultimately translate into better treatments and outcomes for patients.”
