Living Positive Victoria (People Living with HIV/AIDS Victoria Inc) is a community-based organisation that works to advance the human rights and wellbeing of people living with HIV. Vision: Living Positive Victoria shares the vision of the National Association of People with HIV Australia of a world where people living with HIV live their lives to their full potential, in good health and free from discrimination. Mission: To enable and empower all people affected by and living with HIV in Victoria to be part of the response that seeks an end to the HIV epidemic. Values:

Dignity โ€“ We are proud of who we are, where we have come from, and the path we are leading. Innovation โ€“ We are agile in our responsiveness to the needs of our community, effecting change from within. Respect โ€“ We respect and support our membersโ€™ autonomy over their individual life-decisions and experiences. Diversity โ€“ We support, and in turn are strengthened by, our communityโ€™s diversity and their confidence to express it in all aspects of life. Living Positive Victoria is a not for profit, community based organisation representing all people living with HIV in Victoria since 1988 and is committed to the advancement of human rights and wellbeing of all people living with HIV. In response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic in the 1980s, Living Positive Victoria was created as a safe place to provide support and advocate those living with virus. The demand for services increased over the years and the organisation has now grown to a team of 16 individuals providing workshops, peer-support and activities that increase the mental, emotional and social wellbeing of those living with, or affected by HIV. Living Positive Victoria also works closely in partnership with a range of HIV-sector and other organisations to deliver a comprehensive and coordinated response to the needs of PLHIV in Victoria, nationally and internationally. Living Positive Victoriaโ€™s services reach a member base of more than 1,600 individuals, their partners and family members and their families across all races, ethnicities, genders, ages, and sexual identities. Living Positive Victoria is an Australian, incorporated association and registered Australian Charity for taxation purposes.

LPV is All In on reconciliation.

Today we acknowledge the ancient history and cultures of the lands where we live and work, as well as the violent recent history and continued discrimination experienced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders.
We acknowledge that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders are disproportionately affected by HIV and we remain steadfast in our commitment to closing this gap.

In December last year, we released the first part of our Reconciliation Action Plan (Reflect) and have been meeting regularly with community members to listen, learn and discuss our objectives.
You can read our RAP on the โ€˜Reportsโ€™ section of our website ๐Ÿ‘‰ https://lpv.org.au/reports-and-resources/reports-and-publications/reconciliation-action-plan/

Today, on National Sorry Day, we come together to reflect, remember, and honour the strength, resilience, and survival of the Stolen Generations.

Each year on 26 May, we acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children who were forcibly removed from their families, Communities, cultures, and Countries under past government policies.

National Sorry Day is not only a time to remember the pain and trauma caused by these policies, but also to honour the Survivors, families, and Communities who continue to carry this truth and lead healing for future generations.

We also acknowledge the many ACCOs, Elders, advocates, and frontline workers who tirelessly support Survivors, reconnect families and Communities, strengthen culture, and help lead healing from these ongoing traumas.

While we reflect on the past, we must also recognise that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children continue to be removed from their families at disproportionately high rates today.

National Sorry Day reminds us that the legacy of these government policies is not confined to the past, and that real change requires governments to invest in Aboriginal-led solutions that keep children safe, connected, and thriving in Community.

Today, we stand with Stolen Generations Survivors and all those still healing.

๐Ÿชฉ๐Ÿ•บ๐Ÿผ The disco era might be over, but weโ€™ve still got a few moves!

In the spirit of glamming up logos, hereโ€™s our Spotify inspired โ€˜nodeโ€™ shape.

The graphic device, known as the node, was
inspired by the three circles from LPVโ€™s previous logo.
The circles represent the diversity of the HIV community
and has been refined to reflect these diverse groups
coming together and connecting as part of the HIV
community.
The node shape might also be seen as fluid. HIV is
transmitted through certain body fluids (blood, semen,
vaginal fluids and breastmilk) and effective HIV
treatments can greatly reduce the risk of transmission
to the point where there is zero risk of passing it on.

The new LPV logo was designed by the wonderful artist and community member, Daniel Cordner

The more you node ๐Ÿ’™

๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ On Sunday 17th May, Living Positive Victoria joined community members, advocates and allies for the 2026 International AIDS Candlelight Memorial, marking 41 years since the first Candlelight gathering in Melbourne.

This yearโ€™s theme, Peer Magic: The Power of Connection, Care and Lived Experience, celebrated the strength of peer support and community connection. The evening included reflections, music from Low Rez Melbourne Male Choir, and moments of remembrance and solidarity.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the event so meaningful.
