☕️ Today is CafeSmart Day. 💛

Today, hundreds of cafés, roasters and coffee lovers across Australia are proving that something as simple as a morning coffee can create lasting change.

For 16 years, the coffee industry has come together through CafeSmart to support people experiencing or at risk of homelessness in their local communities. Together, you’ve helped raise more than $2.5 million, funding practical, grassroots solutions where they’re needed most.

This year, we’re aiming to raise $250,000 in a single day.

Every coffee purchased at a participating café today helps. Better still, if your café is taking part in our Double Shot of Generosity, you can match their $1 donation and double the impact.

To every café, roaster, sponsor, volunteer and customer who has made CafeSmart part of their day: thank you. This campaign has always been powered by community, generosity and an industry that shows up when it matters most.

This year's theme, Homelessness Action Now, is a call for all of us to act with urgency.

Across Australia, homelessness is rising while the organisations responding on the frontline are being asked to do more with less. We know the solutions exist. We need greater investment in affordable housing, stronger support services and the political will to make ending homelessness a national priority.

At StreetSmart, we also know that change happens when communities step up.

That's why we're proud that it's also CafeSmart Week. This Friday 7 August, hundreds of cafés and roasters across Australia will donate $1 from every coffee sold to support local organisations responding to homelessness. And through our Double Shot of Generosity campaign, you can choose to match your café's donation and double your impact.

This Homelessness Week, join us in calling for action from every level of government, then take action in your own community.

With more than 550 cafés and roasters taking part in CafeSmart this year, it's never been easier to find a participating café near you. Search by café name, suburb or postcode and start planning your coffee stop for Friday 7 August.

In just one week, cafés and roasters across Australia will come together for CafeSmart Day 2026.

On Friday 7 August, every participating café will donate $1 from every coffee sold to support people experiencing homelessness in their local community.

This year, we're also inviting coffee lovers to make it A Double Shot of Generosity by matching their café's $1 donation. It's a small gesture that can double the impact and help fund practical, local responses to homelessness.

Whether you're grabbing your morning flat white, meeting a friend, or picking up your usual takeaway, your coffee can do so much more.

Across four cities, ONA Coffee's CafeSmart campaign produced four distinct local outcomes.

Young people found crisis support, families accessed emergency assistance, children received school essentials, and grassroots organisations were able to respond when their communities needed them most.

Coffee shared. Christmas delivered.

When donations were down and demand was up, CafeSmart stepped in and helped Plates4Mates keep one of their most important traditions alive.

Thanks to cafés in Sydney, funding helped provide Christmas hampers alongside their regular food service, ensuring more people doing it tough could receive practical support during the holiday season.
