Meet Peanut 🐾
Peanut is a gorgeous young girl with a huge personality packed into one very lovable little pup. She is affectionate, playful, clever and completely devoted to her people. If you’re looking for a little shadow who wants to be involved in everything you do, Peanut could be your girl!
Peanut absolutely loves her humans and wants to be close to them as much as possible. Whether she’s playing with her favourite toys, chewing on something tasty, exploring the backyard or simply flopping onto the couch for a nap, she’s happiest when her people are nearby. And when she’s really tired, she’ll happily climb straight onto your chest for a cuddle. ❤️
She has plenty of energy and can be quite the little pocket rocket, but she also has a wonderful off-switch. After some playtime, a good walk, a lick mat or some enrichment, Peanut is more than happy to curl up and sleep. She loves her toys and chew items and would thrive in a home that enjoys keeping her busy both physically and mentally.
Peanut is a clever girl and her Kelpie side really shines through. She has already learnt sit, stay, here and fetch and is eager to keep learning. She is toilet trained but is still occasionally accident-prone, so her new family will need to continue taking her out regularly while she matures. She is also crate trained, although she does suffer a little from FOMO when she knows her humans are getting ready for bed! 😂
Peanut walks well on lead. She likes to zig-zag around investigating absolutely everything, but she doesn't pull and isn't reactive. There is simply a LOT of information to process when you're a Peanut!
She would love a home with another friendly, playful dog. Peanut absolutely adores having a canine companion and has formed a beautiful bond with her foster sister, Morgan. She loves playing with her, following her around and curling up beside her. Having another dog to learn from and keep her company would be a huge benefit for Peanut, and we think she would really thrive with a confident, playful canine sibling.
Peanut can initially be a little shy around unfamiliar dogs, but once she realises they're friendly, she's very happy to make friends.
Peanut is curious about cats and is not aggressive towards them, however she can be quite full-on! She desperately wants to investigate, interact and play, so she would only suit a very confident cat who is comfortable around dogs.
Peanut can be wary of unfamiliar people and may bark when she first sees someone she doesn't know. She tends to keep her distance rather than approach, and once she feels safe, her curiosity usually wins and she'll eventually come over for a sniff. With continued positive experiences and gentle exposure, we expect her confidence to grow. She is young continual socialisation is important with any pup of her age to build her confidence with postive experiences.
Peanut has shown that she can happily spend the day outside with her foster sister while her humans are at work. With a secure backyard, comfy bed, toys and enrichment, she settles well and doesn't try to escape. She's very much a Velcro girl when you're home, though, and will happily follow you from room to room whenever she gets the opportunity.
Peanut is looking for an active family or owners who can give her plenty of companionship, exercise, enrichment and continued training. A secure outdoor area, lots of toys, regular walks or play sessions and, ideally, another friendly dog would make her very happy.
And then there are Peanut's ridiculously cute little quirks. ❤️
She tilts her head at strange or high-pitched noises and loves leaning her whole body against you for affection. She'll happily squeeze herself into the tiniest possible space beside another dog, because apparently personal space is a completely unnecessary concept when you're Peanut and she loves to cuddle. 💖
Peanut is affectionate, funny, clever, energetic and wonderfully entertaining. She is still young and has plenty to learn, but with the right family, continued training and another dog to show her the ropes, we think this little girl has all the ingredients to become an incredible lifelong companion. 🐾
