For first-time parents Divya and Nishanth, the 13-hour wait while their baby boy, Ojas, was in surgery was the hardest moment of their lives.

Diagnosed with biliary atresia, a rare, life-threatening liver condition, at just seven weeks old, little Ojas urgently needed a lifesaving liver transplant.

Thanks to the incredible, world-class expertise of the surgical team at The Royal Children's Hospital, and the gift of organ donation, Ojas was given a second chance at life ๐Ÿ’œ

You can read Ojas and his families full story on our website, and learn more about how your support changes lives at The Royal Children's Hospital ๐Ÿ’š

To the mighty North Melbourne Kangaroos, the Good Friday Appeal would like to say THANK YOU ๐Ÿ’œ Your support of the 2026 Appeal has been nothing short of valuable and exciting - especially when the boys brought home the win on Good Friday!

This year we launched the Virtual Guard of Honour - a new way for fans to get involved and support the appeal from the comfort of their own home. Combined with proceeds from ticket sales, club auctions and contributions from players, Latrobe Health Services, Mazda, McDonalds, the AFL and 13Cabs, SuperClash this year raised a record breaking $337,162 ๐Ÿ’š

Thank you to our SuperClash Ambassadors, Parker and Paisley, for sharing your story and being a big part of the game. On Good Friday they led the reverse guard of honour onto the field, a special moment for all patients, families and healthcare workers involved.

North Melbourne Football Club shows their support of the Good Friday Appeal year round, for which we are incredibly grateful.

๐Ÿ‰The AFLW side took on Carlton last September and came away with a SuperClash win. Stay tuned for more details on this years fixture ๐Ÿ‘€
๐Ÿ“žThank you to those players who took the time to take donations in the Phone room on Good Friday.
๐Ÿซ‚To Bella Eddey and Charlie Comben - thank you for being Good Friends of the Appeal and helping to spread awareness throughout the whole campaign.
๐Ÿš•To Harry Sheezel and Luke Davies-Uniacke, thank you for driving around our team and showing off the quality of our raffle prize Mazda CX-80.

Last week, together with The Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne and The RCH Foundation, we invited volunteers, community groups, and partners to the hospital to acknowledge, reflect and celebrate their incredible involvement in the 2026 Good Friday Appeal ๐Ÿ’œ

Amongst our guests were some special groups who celebrated milestones with the Appeal this year. This included Alan and Vera from Kruze4Kids who this year marked 15 years of fundraising, raising over $260,000 in this time. We were also joined by team members from LaManna, who raised $85,000 in their 10th year of fundraising.

Cathy, Jan and Paul from Devenish Dookie and District joined us on the night to mark officially reaching the $1 million milestone in donations. Thank you for your amazing support ๐Ÿ’œ

Many other milestones were celebrated this year, keep an eye on our socials in the coming weeks as we recognise more of our incredible supporters.

Thank you to everyone who played a part in the success of the 95th Good Friday Appeal, your support helped to raise $25,268,485 for The Royal Children's Hospital, as they continue to provide world class care to sick kids and their families ๐Ÿ’š

In their 75th year of support, the CFA raised an incredible $2,150,000 for the Good Friday Appeal ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿš’

This is the first time this milestone has been hit, and takes the partnership's lifetime fundraising total to more than $43 million!

As the iconic sound of fire truck sirens ring out across the state on Good Friday morning, more than a thousand CFA volunteers from 225 brigades take to the streets rattling tins and collecting donations.

As we reflect on this milestone year for the CFA, we acknowledge their ongoing commitment to community service. Even in communities impacted by bushfires earlier in the year, volunteers showed up to give back - a powerful testament to the resilience and generosity that defines the CFA.

A massive thank you goes out to all members of the CFA who play a part in not only the Good Friday Appeal, but in the wider community as well ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’š

It's no surprise that Good Friday is our biggest day for volunteering! This year we had 750 volunteers at MCEC alone.

From coordinating the fun at Kids Day Out, counting cash in the Money Counting Room, taking donations in the Phone Room or shaking tins at SuperClash - the GFA purple army played an integral part in the success of the 2026 Good Friday Appeal ๐Ÿ’œ

We'd like to give a shoutout to Steph, Anthony, Andy, Carly and Matt for volunteering as photographers on the day, and Jane and Ethan for for supporting the media team with content creation ๐Ÿ’š

This year we were also supported by 56 Collection Groups across Metropolitan Melbourne who were out knocking on doors and collecting at intersections. These groups contributed over $940,000 on the day! Over 600 volunteers from our Collection Groups came into the Money Counting Room to deliver their collected cash.

Our Regional fundraising events are led by 221 Volunteer Area Managers who this year coordinated over $5.9M in donations from Regional Victoria and Southern NSW.

The power of volunteering should never be underestimated!

Meet Shashi, the founder of Friends Of The Children Foundation

Shashi and his team started collecting for the Good Friday Appeal in 1997.

He says the secret to his collection groups success is the community he has built around him. He collects for the Good Friday Appeal to help others, as he believes this is how he can give back to those who have helped him.

Our 56 Metropolitan Collection Groups are made up of volunteers from a variety of community groups, cultures, hobbies and lifestyles who all share one common goal - raising money to support The Royal Children's Hospital. This year they contributed $943,369 to the final tally, beating last years total by over $86,000!

Rain, hail or shine these volunteers are out collecting donations, and we can not thank you enough! ๐Ÿ’œ

To celebrate this years National Volunteer Week, we're highlighting some special moments and sharing our thanks to every volunteer who plays a part in the Good Friday Appeal ๐Ÿ’œ

The theme for National Volunteer Week 2026 is "Your Year to Volunteer", honouring the contributions of current volunteers and inviting new members into our volunteering community. Even though Good Friday has passed for 2026, we will have many other opportunities throughout the year to get involved. Keep an eye out on our website for updates about volunteer registration.

All across Victoria and Southern NSW our volunteers are making a huge difference in our community and helping to raise important funds for sick kids at The Royal Children's Hospital. We thank you for your dedication to the Appeal, your hard work does not go unnoticed ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿซ‚

Baby Patrick was the size of a block of butter when he was born prematurely at 25 weeks and 6 days, in October last year.

Mum Bryeny only held him for about 30 seconds before he was whisked away to the neonatal intensive care unit where he was intubated. Baby Patrick was struggling to breathe.

โ€œLifting him up almost felt like there was nothing there,โ€ Bryeny said. โ€œHe was literally skin and bones. He was so fragile.โ€

Patrick spent the next three months in hospital โ€œkicking goalsโ€. โ€œHe was just hitting every milestone,โ€ his Dad Tom said.

Patrick was due to go home on the week of January 27 but took a turn for the worst. He was found blue in his cot after suffering from a cardiac arrest.

After several weeks under close monitoring, Patrick was finally able to go home!

Bryeny and Tom said no words could describe how grateful they were for The Royal Childrenโ€™s Hospital.

โ€œThe care, compassion and dedication they showed our little family will stay with us forever,โ€ Bryeny said.

Patrick's full story can be read on our website ๐Ÿ’œ

Last night was a memorable evening to acknowledge the many supporters of The Royal Childrenโ€™s Hospital Good Friday Appeal over the past 95 years ๐Ÿ’š

It was a pleasure to be joined by so many of our long standing supporters including community leaders, volunteers, community groups, media and corporate partners and reflect on the incredible efforts in raising $25,268,485 this year.

We thank the Governor of Victoria, Her Excellency Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC (VIC) and the Honourable Professor James Angus AO, Lieutenant Governor, for hosting this special occasion in such a beautiful and historic setting at Government House.

The Good Friday Appeal remains a vital part of the community. We look forward to continuing our work to ensure children and their families will receive world-class care at The Royal Childrenโ€™s Hospital ๐Ÿ’œ
