6 events, 1400km and countless stories later, the 2026 Regional Thank You Events are complete 💜
These events are held to acknowledge our supporters and fundraisers across Regional Victoria and Southern NSW, share stories from the Appeal and share more information regarding the RCH and GFA’s Regional Funding Program. We were joined by representatives from 54 towns to commemorate their support.
The events this year were a mixed bag of milestones, guest speakers and supporter acknowledgments, some of which included:
💸Celebrating Stawell hitting the $1 million milestone in Ballarat.
🩺We were joined by Dr Lawrence Gray from Barwon Health in Torquay.
🪁Hearing from Carlie Alicastro in Bendigo as she spoke about the RCH’s Child Life Therapy program.
🚒In Donald we celebrated 75 years since the first CFA brigade started collecting for the Good Friday Appeal.
🎖️In Swan Hill we marked 50 years of support from Nyah.
🚣Corowa brought together both sides of the border and recognised the impact of Southern NSW towns.
This year we also recognised the incredible achievement of Echuca Moama who have hit the $3M milestone in fundraising 💜
We also presented Wangaratta Area Manager Alex Carmody with a plaque recognising the town’s 50 years of fundraising, reached in 2025. Their fundraising efforts this year takes the town’s cumulative total to $3,314,432. An amazing effort!
We were grateful to be joined by representatives from local healthcare services and councils. We heard stories about the RCH from patients who have experienced first hand the highest standard of care, and learnt more about how your donations support not only the RCH, but over 30 healthcare services across the state.
Thank you to the venues who hosted and catered our events, and thank you to everyone who attended. Celebrating the 95th Good Friday Appeal is a milestone we won’t forget, thank you to everyone who was a part of it.
