Plan International Australia

Plan International Australia Until we are all equal. Girls, globally, bear the greatest burden of this injustice - denied education, subjected to violence, and robbed of their freedoms.

Hunger, economic instability, climate change and conflict are devastating the lives of millions, pushing them further into disadvantage and inequality. When offered the opportunity to learn, make decisions, thrive, and lead the change, we see girls rise to help create a better world for themselves, their families and the communities around them. This is why we are there, providing emergency respon

se and long-term community development programs in 70 countries around the world. Working alongside local communities, we provide the support and assistance needed to survive emergencies and forge a way forward; to see girls valued and empowered, and future generations inherit a brighter, more equitable future. Together, we have the power to move humanity towards a better tomorrow for girls and communities globally. Will you join us?

Press Release: Major earthquake strikes Philippines on first day of school term

“We are especially concerned about the safety, protection and well-being of children, particularly girls, who are among the most vulnerable in the aftermath of disasters. Displacement, disrupted education and weakened protection systems significantly increase their risks of violence, exploitation and long-term harm. It is critical that response efforts prioritize their protection from the outset. We urge all responders to uphold the highest standards of child safeguarding,” said Pebbles Sanchez-Ogang, Executive Director of Plan International Pilipinas.

Plan International Pilipinas stands in solidarity with affected families and is working closely with partners to assess urgent needs and rapidly mobilize support, with emergency supplies ready for distribution.

We must before, during, and after disasters so they are safe, supported, and able to recover and rebuild their lives.

For Rohingyan women and girls living in Cox's Bazar, there is not enough food and few ways for them to earn an income.

Women and children face a constant risk of violence and abuse as they try to earn money and girls are forced into child marriages.

We are actively providing livelihood training and tools so that girls and young women can earn an independent living to support their families and make their own life choices.

With your support, we can continue to help refugee women, girls, and their families: https://planau.me/keep-them-safe

In 2017, violence and conflict in Myanmar saw thousands of Rohingya families killed and displaced, with the vast majority living in the world's largest refugee camp in Cox's Bazar.

With your support, we're ensuring girls are kept safe from child marriage, and providing skills training so young refugees can earn an income.

Periods are natural, not shameful 🩸

No woman, girl, or person who menstruates should start their period without knowing what is happening to their body, without access to sanitary products, and without clean, private toilet facilities, especially in schools.

By improving menstrual health and tackling period shame, we can improve girls’ attendance and performance at school, break down taboos around menstruation, raise girls’ self-esteem and enable girls to fully participate in all aspects of society.

Together, we can end period stigma 💥
