Heidi is currently living in foster care with two large dogs and a puppy and has done well with careful management and structure. For this reason, Heidi is looking for a home where she will be the only dog. She may be suitable to live with mature cats when introductions are carried out slowly and appropriately. Heidi can become jealous when it comes to sharing her people with other dogs and prefers not to compete for affection. In the right home, she will reward her family with unwavering loyalty, endless love, and devoted companionship.

Heidi would be best suited to an adult-only home or a family with mature teenagers who understand and respect a dog's boundaries. She is not suited to a home with young children.

Toilet Training: Mostly toilet trained and uses the doggy door to go outside but is still learning.
Basic Training: Knows “sit” and is starting to learn “shake.”
Dog Interactions: Has been raised around two female Blue Heelers and interacts well with them.

And just like that, you all scared the sh*t out of a puppy farmer.

The Elphinstone puppy factory application has officially been withdrawn.

It's incredible news.

But we can't stop here.

There's already ten large-scale commercial breeders operating with exemption to the legislation across our state — just like this bloke wanted to do.

This is not how our landmark anti-puppy farming legislation was designed to work.

We need to close these loopholes for good.

For dogs like Greta here — who lived half her life in hell as a breeding machine — only for the person who did it to her be granted a license to keep in business.

🐾 have your own transport to pick up / take puppies to any necessary vet appointments at our partner vets in Hallam, Officer, Pakenham, Frankston and surrounds?

🐾 have the time to socialise your fosters for at least an hour a day?

🐾 Do you have love to give?

🐾Have an understanding of puppy traits and how to support and work on training?

💕 want to make a difference?

All vet costs will be covered by us and we’ll help where we can with food and litter. You just need to provide a safe space for them to land and be loved until adopted

We provide a foster carers group for support.

🐾 A gift like no other 💕

Receiving a donation of litter truly feels like a gift like no other — like Christmas has come early.

Why? Because every rescue goes through enormous amounts of litter to care for our cats and kittens. It’s one of those everyday essentials that adds up quickly and often becomes a real expense for both our rescue and our foster carers. At times we’re stretching every dollar just to make sure our animals have what they need.

A donation like this allows us to breathe a little easier. It lifts a weight, eases the burden, and reminds us that we are supported in the work we do.

Sometimes “thank you” can feel too small for the kindness that’s been shown.

Please know that to every person and every organisation who made this possible, everyone at FurKids Rescue is incredibly grateful and deeply appreciative of your generosity. A huge thank you to Pet O Pakenham for hosting our Adoption Day. We had such a successful day, meeting so many lovely new faces and sharing stories about our rescue pets.

The lucky souls who found their forever homes were:
🐾 Ellie – 11 months old
🐾 Oliver – 7 months old
🐾 Bow – 22 weeks old
🐾 Kirk – our gentle soul
🐾 Augus and Sterling – our little spring chickens

For our puppies:
🐶 Our little Staffy x Cattle Dog pups Stuffy and Hermes were placed on hold so they can recover from their desexing this week. In just a few days they’ll be feeling great and heading off to their new homes.

🐶 Their sister Gecko was adopted by her foster carer’s mother-in-law and went home with them today.

🐶 And our very special success story… Olof. Our beautiful boy arrived with us tiny at just 6 weeks old, and now at 19 weeks he has officially found his forever family. We couldn’t be happier for him.

A huge thank you to our amazing FurKids team for everything you do. Your love, time and dedication make these beautiful moments possible.

📍 We’ll be back at Pet O Pakenham for our next Adoption Weekend on Saturday 13th June and Sunday 14th June.

Oh my, the applications for Reggie came in thick and fast. We truly appreciate everyone who enquired or applied. It is exciting to get so much interest on one animal but it is also daunting as I know we are disappointing so many.

Reggie has his Meet N Greet after a successful applicant was notified. As we hoped, it was love at first sight and a purrrrfect match.

🐾🏡Mango and Kiwi Adopted

These boys are the last of the litter after mum and siblings were found under a decking and trapped. Mum was adopted early on and we have had our fingers crossed for so long for the boys as they are now 6 months old.

We were absolutely delighted when it was decide to adopt the two as a pair as the new owner didn’t want them to be on their own.

The boys are settling in. They are a bit nervous but their new owner understands the same just need a little extra time and TLC to come out of their shells.
