Calling all superSTARS! ⭐

Rain, hail or shine you KNOW you're going to have a great time in the forest! Winter is a beautiful time in Kuitpo which makes The Avenues parkrun the perfect place to be on a Saturday morning.

Our roster is looking a little bare, especially this coming Saturday and we would love to fill our key roles, which we've highlighted with stars.

These roles will ensure our parkrun can proceed with all necessary roles filled, to keep you all safe and sound and with a time to match! 🙌

Sing out if you can help... And don't worry, if it's you're first time volunteering that's great! We'll be right alongside you 🧡

This morning's Event number #258 was brought to you by the letters D, C and the number 5...

D for Dedication...
C for Commitment...
And 5 times around the sun...

Except there was no SUN 🫩 Just rain. And lots of it!

7:55am saw dry conditions and one small puddle at our briefing...
Fast forward to 8am and DOWN SHE CAME ☔
8:30am... Rivers!
9:00am... Here comes the sun! 😎

Sounds like a pretty perfect morning in the forest? 🤩

A HUGE thank you and CONGRATULATIONS to the 39 people who helped us celebrate our 5th birthday, as well as braving the downpour to run, jog and walk the course.
We had plenty of visitors with locals from Mt Barker, Parkindula & Goolwa and also as far as Perth!
We even have 5 record new Personal Bests! Rain makes you run fast 😂
Or was it the cake and fairy bread?

It was a little fresh in the forest this morning for The Avenues parkrun Event number #257 🌲🐨

This week 46 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 15 were first timers to The Avenues!

The Avenues parkrun started on 29th May 2021. Since then 2,900 participants have completed 9,345 parkruns covering a total distance of 46,725 km, including 1,314 new Personal Bests. A total of 365 individuals have volunteered 2,058 times.

With National Volunteers week upon us, The Avenues parkrun would like to say a HUGE thank you to each and everyone one of you who has given up your Saturday morning, rain, hail or shine, to be part of our little forest family! 💛

First timers welcome to tail walkers, you have all played a vital role in ensuring we can deliver THE best way to start a Saturday!

As we near our 5th birthday, we would like to thank the 365 individual superstars that have volunteered at The Avenues so far.
That's a whole year's worth of vollies! 🎉
