With much sadness we advise the sudden passing of Brendan Graves last Saturday. Husband to Liz, a longtime Committee member, the Graves family has been living next door to the Hall for over 30 years. Brendan was a valuable contributor working quietly behind the scenes; of late he became the “Master” of our coffee machine and made a mean cappuccino.

A Celebration of Brendan’s Life will be held on Sunday 19th July at Woodburn Homestead, Angas Plains Road, Langhorne Creek from 1pm. The family has chosen the beautiful venue as it was one of his favourite places.

We need some advice on how to stop water coming under the back door and flooding the hall. There is a concrete slab that needs removing but the Committee needs help to work out a long-term solution. Is there a builder, plumber, engineer in the District? Meanwhile we'll contine sandbagging and using towels - not ideal and definitely below par these past few days.

COMMUNITY HELP wanted.
A visitor to our community last Friday was tailgated along Brookman Road from Top Range Feeds store to around Bevan Road. When the driver turned up a side road, the tailgater did a u-turn and drove up to ram the car. The driver was shocked. The car is severely damaged.
The police advise they need either camera evidence or someone's dash cam to pursue the matter.
This happened between 1.20-1.30pm- the car was rammed at 1.28pm.
The alleged vehicle is a white GU Patrol Ute turbo diesel. Unfortunately due to the driver being in shock, the number plate details were not taken.
Can you help? Please send HFRA a message and or report any information you have to the Mount Barker or Aldinga police stations.

Big thank you to Willunga Repair Cafe. Fixed our urn which wasn't working. Has a reset safety switch on the bottom we didn't know about.

If you liked the Spud night, we are happy to consider other social events.

To help us, we need Hope Forest District residents to give us ideas. Two ideas were mooted at the Spud night: a First Aid session with AED training; regular exercise classes. We are already looking in to the First Aid session.

Please consider taking up financial membership ($10/adult/financial year). This gives you a say and your $10 goes towards power costs. Perhaps you could consider coming on the Committee. There are casual vacancies now: the AGM is in September/October.

What a fantastic success our 2026 Spud Night was! 🥔🔥

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped make the night possible — from donating food and raffle prizes, collecting firewood for the bonfire, helping with setup and pack up, food prep, serving, cleaning, advertising and all the behind-the-scenes jobs before and during the event. Community events like this simply couldn’t happen without the incredible helping hands and generosity of so many people.

Thank you also to everyone who came along to support the evening. Every dollar raised goes straight back into improving and maintaining facilities for our community, and we truly appreciate the support.

Only 1 week to go until the Hope Forest/Dingabledinga Spud Night! 🥔🔥

We’re getting excited for a great night around the bonfire with good food, music and some awesome raffle prizes up for grabs.

To help us with catering numbers, please make sure you click “Going” on the Facebook event if you’re attending.
If you have any dietary requirements, please let us know in advance so we can cater for everyone.

Last night we hired the hall to the Alexandrina Council. The Committee also provided the catering. Their culinary skills were deemed "the best ever at an award night". Thanks to Bev, Liz, Lynn and Pam. 👏
