Mackay's own University of the Third Age - part of a world-wide movement that began in France in 1973

What is the Third Age - it is that time of life when the duties of full time work and of raising a family are over, which for most of us comes usually at about then 50's and 60's, leaving time and energies for us again to follow our own interests and needs. We find we'd like to resume activities for which we had not had time. Or there is something we have always fancied trying, perhaps an academic study, an artistic pursuit, a physical exercise or a game.

U3A Laughing Yoga

Well! That was a fun morning! Who came along to participate in our pop up activity “Laughing Yoga”?
Our skilled trainer, Jo , took us on an auditory journey simulating laughter ( which often became real) and movement which increases blood flow and oxygen to the brain and body cells. It’s an aerobic exercise that has been around for hundreds of years.
Many thanks to Jo Mulcahy who is a Clinical Nurse Consultant and passionate about supporting regional communities.
