🌟 UAA INDIGENOUS TALENT ID DAY WRAP-UP 🌟

The North Coast Academy of Sport welcomed 160 young Indigenous athletes to Lismore and Coffs Harbour across two incredible days of talent identification and development. Athletes took part in a range of testing and sport-specific activities across rugby, golf, basketball, AFL, athletics and Functional Movement Testing, showcasing the outstanding sporting talent emerging from communities across the North Coast.

The energy, enthusiasm and effort on display throughout both events were exceptional, and we look forward to supporting the next group of athletes as they progress along the NCAS pathway.

🏌️MACAU MASTERS RUNNER-UP! 🏌️

Congratulations to NCAS golfer Zion Wagner (pictured 2nd from right) on an outstanding performance at the Macau International Golf Masters, finishing in 2nd place!

Competing in Macau, China from 25–27 May, Zion recorded finished just two shots behind the winner, who is an experienced international G4D champion.

Making the achievement even more impressive, Zion was the youngest competitor in the tournament, showcasing his talent and composure on the international stage.

The Macau International Golf Masters brings together top golfers with disabilities from around the world in a championship that celebrates excellence, skill and inclusion, and Zion represented Australia with distinction.

Congratulations, Zion! 👏⛳️

🏌️‍♂️NORTH COAST CHS SELECTION🏌️‍♂️

Congratulations to NCAS athletes Stone Cannon and Cooper Gerada on their selection in the North Coast Combined High Schools Golf Team earlier this month! 👏

Stone and Cooper will now travel to the NSW All Schools Teams Championships and State Selection Trials at Magenta Shores from 22–25 June 2026.

This is a fantastic achievement and a testament to the hard work and dedication both athletes continue to show in their golf development.

We congratulate Stone and Cooper on their selection and wish them all the very best at the upcoming championships! ⛳

🏌️ NORTH VS SOUTH CUP ⛳

Over the weekend, the annual North vs South Golf Cup was held at Leura Golf Course in the Blue Mountains, bringing together some of the best young golfers from across NSW.

NCAS was proudly represented by Cooper Gerada and Will Coombes, who both played an important role in helping Team North secure the win for the weekend! 👏

A huge congratulations to all players on a fantastic competition, and a special shoutout to Cooper Gerada who went undefeated across the entire weekend, an outstanding achievement! 💪

🛹NCAS ALUMNA SELECTED FOR NATIONAL TEAM🛹

Huge congratulations to NCAS alumna Ella Ledingham on her selection to the Australian National Team for the upcoming WST World Cup in Rome, taking place from 7–14 June! 🇦🇺

A former athlete in our Future Stars program, Ella will proudly represent Australia in the Street event on the world stage, an incredible achievement and a testament to her hard work, dedication, and talent.

We are so proud to see Ella continuing to reach new heights and can’t wait to cheer her on in Rome!👏

🛹 NCAS ATHLETES SHINE AT RUMBLE ON THE RIVER 🛹

From 16–19 April, seven NCAS athletes competed at Rumble on the River in Lismore, an official Skate Australia Olympic pathway event featuring some of the country’s best Street and Park skateboarders.

With more than 150 competitors from across Australia, the event gave athletes the chance to earn valuable points toward national team selection, while competing at one of the nation’s premier skateboarding events.

Outstanding results from the NCAS team included:
🥇 Jude Buchanan – 1st U16 Male Street & 2nd U12 Mixed Street
🥉 Marlo Lundmark – 3rd U12 Mixed Street
🔥 Everly Leard – 4th Junior Bowl Female & 11th Women’s Bowl
🔥 Maasai Solano Fallon – 4th Junior Bowl Male
🔥 Koby Leard – 5th U16 Male Street
👏 Madden Thomas – 16th Junior Bowl Male
👏 Jazz Kennedy – 17th Women’s Bowl

It was fantastic to see NCAS coach Nakula Boag competing in Men’s Street, while Head Coach Bevin Newton did an outstanding job MCing the event. A huge thank you to Bevin, Nakula and Byron Willis for their continued support and guidance of our athletes throughout the program.

The event also provided a great opportunity for NCAS athletes to connect with athletes from the Southern Sports Academy, strengthening relationships across the wider Regional Academies of Sport network.
