This gorgeous mosaic ❤️ was gifted to our business after the 2022 floods. It was designed by eileen newberry of S.A & distributed through the 💕 for lismore group.

This beautiful mosaic is being given away today in the Love for Lismore Heart Space art drop. And what an be amazing story:
"This piece was created by artist Jess for the ‘Hearts for Lismore’ mosaic giveaway. The tiles making up the background went through the 2022 flood and were donated by Joye at Northern Rivers Tiles & Mosaics. The pink fragments that make up the heart are from a piece kindly donated for artful reuse by local ceramicist Brooke Jenkins. Kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold, inspired the heart. It offers the reassurance that something unique, strong and beautiful can come through our fragility, imperfections, flaws and missteps in life."

I finished this mosaic today which is a gift to the Love for Lismore Heart Space . And the heart GLOWS!
This is an amazing community space which uses art and craft for healing. If you haven't been there yet, check them out.

The Love for Lismore Heart Space is continuing the great work in using art and craft for community healing.
This is a FREE workshop. 😍

Next weekend at The Heart Space!

The Love for Lismore Heart Space, in conjunction with Lismore Regional Gallery, invite children and teenagers to join us for a fabric tote decorating workshop on Saturday 4th March from 11.00am. We will provide coloured cloth tote bags to be decorated in more ways than you can imagine ! Think fabric hearts, buttons, beads, lace, ribbons, Pom Poms, paint and glitter! 

This workshop is part of the Lismore - Opening Our Heart  flood anniversary events. This event is generously supported by Lismore City Council.

What's the next step for Hearts for Lismore??

It's been a big 12 months in Lismore and I've been proud of all that has been achieved through this mosaic heart project.
Now I'm working with the not-for-profit volunteer run Love for Lismore Heart Space who have a space for healing through art and craft. They are continuing to support the community and doing GREAT work. Support them if you can, engage with their services and space if you're local.

❤️‍🩹💖💗Hearts are always around on Valentine's Day but in Lismore, hearts have another meaning - hope. During 2022, we received over 250 heart mosaics. Each handmade and donated from around Aus (and a few from the US!) to support people affected by flood. THANK YOU to the artists. We will be forever grateful for the support you have given the people of the Lismore area.
