🌱🌏 Happy World Environment Day 🌱🌏

This year's theme - Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future - sits at the core of what Envite Environment has been doing for over 30 years.

The theme centres on something we see proven in the field everyday: that nature, given the right conditions, has an extraordinary capacity to heal itself, and in doing so, help us address the climate crisis. Healthy forests sequester carbon. Restored wetlands buffer floods. Reconnected habitat corridors support species resilience in a changing climate. These are outcomes our ecologists and bush regenerators work towards on every project, across every landscape we work in. From critically endangered lowland rainforest to riparian restoration along flood-affected waterways - our work is grounded in the understanding that restoring nature is climate action.

This year's theme also speaks to intergenerational equity - the responsibility we carry to leave functioning ecosystems for those who come after us. That long view shapes how we approach restoration. We're not planting trees for today. We're rebuilding ecological systems that will continue to strengthen for decades.

On World Environment Day, we recommit to that work, because the signals from nature are clear: there is no future worth having without healthy ecosystems at its foundation.

🐨 Koala Spotting Walk - Coutts Crossing
Join the Clarence Valley Koala Working Group for a free afternoon walk led by Dr Greg Clancy - learning the art of reading the bush for signs of koala activity.

You'll learn to identify koala s**t and claw marks, understand the habitat they depend on, and with a bit of luck, we'll spot one of these iconic animals is the wild.

It's a wonderful opportunity for anyone who loves the bush, wants to deepen their connection to local wildlife, or is simply curious about the koalas living in their backyard.
All community members are welcome, and it's completely free. We'd love to see you there!

Kris Kringle, a young male koala, was recently released into a restored conservation property at Tullymorgan, NSW. It's a small moment with a big team behind it.

Getting one animal from rehabilitation back into wild habitat requires a community effort:
🐨 Clarence Valley WIRES and Friends of the Koala who rescued and rehabilitated Kris
🐨 A dedicated land owner who committed to long-term habitat restoration on their property - providing a safe home for Kris
🐨 Envite Environment conducting sustained lantana control and planting of 1000 koala food trees on the release property - creating healthier bushland and vital habitat for native wildlife.

Every koala rescued and released matters immensely in our joint mission to reverse their endangered status. A big thank you to everyone involved for their commitment to koalas and the long-term care of our natural environment.

Think you've seen enough koala videos? 🐨
Think again! It doesn't get any more heartwarming that this -> Meet Kris Kringle - young, determined, and finally home. He was recently released into a restored conservation property at Tullymorgan after being rehabilitated by Clarence Valley Wires and Friends of the Koala Inc.

His new home is restored habitat - the result of years of work that included sustained lantana removal and planting of over 1000 koala food trees.

Koalas are endangered in NSW, which makes moments like this incredibly special. It took a whole community - landholders, wildlife carers, bush regenerators, and conservation groups - to get Kris healthy and home to a thriving habitat.

Happy 100th birthday, Sir David Attenborough!

When Envite was founded in 1993, Sir David was already 67 years old - decades into a life devoted to showing the world what we stand to lose, and why it's worth fighting for.

30+ years on, Sir David is still mobilising global citizens towards urgent climate action, and we’re still mobilising across Eastern Australia to restore and protect ecosystems:
🌿30+ years restoring the Big Scrub in the Northern Rivers
🌿20 years in Coffs Coast Regional Park
🌿8 years with Gold Coast City Council
🌿7 years restoring koala habitat with WWF Wildlife on the NSW North Coast
🌿5 years protecting the Southern Pink Underwinged Moth

Different approaches. Same conviction of purpose.

To the man who made a generation fall in love with the natural world: thank you, Sir David. Your voice has inspired many of the Envite team and millions around the world.
