Home Assistance and Regional Transport (HART) Services officially opened the doors to its new Keen Street headquarters on Wednesday 20 May, with Lismore City Mayor Steve Kreig cutting the ribbon in front of staff, partners and community members.
The site — a former car yard — has been transformed into a modern, purpose-built office space by a team of local tradespeople and creatives, reflecting HART's ongoing investment in the Lismore CBD and the broader Northern Rivers region.
The fit out was delivered by North Coast Building and Maintenance, Sawtell's Electrical and The Lismore Workers Club, with striking signage and murals created by local artist Kate Stroud.
“You wonder what is going to go into some of our CBD buildings like this old car yard. But there is nothing better than seeing the yard full of HART vehicles and a beautiful office space for the workers.
This space looks amazing. It is a credit to Isaac and the whole HART team — as it takes a team to transform a space like this. I could not be happier to see more investment in our CBD. It’s a real show of support, a statement about what our city can become.”
— Steve Kreig, Lismore City Council
For HART CEO Isaac Smith, the opening marks a significant milestone in the organisation’s journey since relocating its headquarters back to the Lismore CBD in January 2022.
“It has been a big four years since we moved HART back into the Lismore CBD in January 2022. We have grown significantly, with more than 130 workers now delivering Transport and Aged Care services across the Northern Rivers.
But Lismore is our heart, and we are so proud to be investing our time, values and dollars back into this community. It really backs up our new slogan — You’re local… We’re local.”
— Isaac Smith, CEO, HART Services
HART Services provides support at home and community transport services to thousands of residents across the Northern Rivers. They will celebrate 40 years in 2027 and they are truly regional with offices in Bonalbo, Kyogle, Casino and Maclean. There is also talk of a Ballina office in the near future. This gives families a strong local option for Aged Care services in our region.
