Lismore parkrun is a FREE weekly timed 5km event for runners of all standards, which takes place every Saturday at 7:00am in Lismore, NSW, Australia. Lismore parkrun is FREE and open to people of all standards and ages, both as volunteers and as runners. We encourage people of every ability to take part, from those taking their first steps in running to Olympians, from juniors 5 years or older to

those with decades of experience. All runners receive encouragement and enjoy being part of a community event open to all standards. Equally, our volunteer teams come from a huge variety of backgrounds and we urge everybody to get involved in organising their local events at least 4 times per year.

This week 115 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 14 were first timers and 11 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 6 different clubs took part.

We welcomed tourists from Main Beach, Kelvin Grove and Toowoomba. First timers from Kyogle and Lismore also joined us.

Lismore parkrun started on 2nd April 2016. Since then 5,273 participants have completed 48,441 parkruns covering a total distance of 242,205 km, including 7,392 new Personal Bests. A total of 647 individuals have volunteered 6,369 times.

Gee Friday comes around quickly doesn’t it! Look how happy our Run Director Lea is to welcome you all along for event number 464 😊
We may have to rename our Pacer Day to Pacers in the Mist tomorrow, thank goodness they’ll have their hi vis vests on for you all to see them 😜
It is also parkruns 1 millionth event tomorrow! How special to be a part of that.
Please be at Riverside Park, the town side of the Ballina St bridge, by 6.45am for our briefing before we head off at 7am. Remember to bring your barcode, either printed or on your phone, watch or disk. Kiddos under 11 MUST be within arms reach of their designated adult. Doggos MUST be on a short lead and kept on the left side of the path so as not to trip other parkrunners.

parkrun is celebrating its 1 millionth event this weekend, what an amazing achievement!
What started out with 13 runners, 5 volunteers, an old fashioned stopwatch, tap washers as finish tokens and results written on paper, to what we have now, boy, we’ve come a long way!
Why not join us this Saturday, whether it’s your 1st or your 400th, or anywhere in between! Come find out what this exciting phenomena parkrun is, you won’t regret it.
