The world treats children like an obstacle — to careers, holidays, success, and “the life we want.” Birthrates are collapsing because we’ve believed the lie.

Scripture says the opposite: children are a heritage and a reward from the Lord. They are how God fills empty houses and empty churches with life, joy, and blessing from one generation to the next.

We’ve watched that happen in our church over the last 6–7 years. Don’t just tolerate the noise of kids. Ask God for more of them — born into our families or gathered through Kids Club, playgroup and ministry. Then labour so they flourish.

“Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.” — Psalm 127:3

Saturday night thoughts from Chris…

If the ads told you to tick “No religion” but you still put a tick in the Yes box because you value the heritage and values you inherited — that’s a good start.

Step 1: Own it.
Step 2: Come to church.

I’d love to welcome you at Lindisfarne tomorrow morning. Find out a bit more about what that “Yes” can mean in a real community of people who share it.

Can’t get to Lindisfarne? That’s completely fine — find your local church and go sometimes.

See you in the morning.

Grateful to partner with Anglicare Tas this winter! Our own parishioners at Lindisfarne Anglican have stepped up with grocery donations, toiletries, cleaning items and more to help families and individuals facing tough times with housing, bills, food and the cold. 🙏

As Margaret from Anglicare shared, these practical gifts are making a real difference—putting food on tables and supporting people across our community.

‘For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in…’
— Matthew 25:35 (NIV)

Jesus calls us to love our neighbours in word and deed.

Well done to everyone contributing—let’s keep showing Christ’s compassion this winter!

How can you get involved? Donate or drop off items via Anglicare’s Winter Appeal (open until end of July): anglicare-tas.org.au/donate

A thoughtful response to Anglicare’s Winter Appeal is helping people meet their urgent needs. Parish Community Development Worker Margaret Savage says Anglicare is using Winter Appeal donations to respond to people’s specific circumstances. “The...

Paul didn’t stay silent when people in the church were getting it wrong — he called them out by name.
This isn’t about letting anyone say or do whatever they want so we can avoid being “quarrelsome.” It’s about resisting flashy new ideas that lead us away from the gospel.

We must guard the truth and be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

Stick to the truth. No compromise.

The Scriptures call us to reflect the perfect God we serve — the Triune God, a beautiful unity of diverse love: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Our communities should look like Him: a unified people from every background, shaped by love.

When we love one another deeply inside the church and let that love overflow to the world around us… we are being like God.

Because God is love. 💛

If Timothy guards the gospel, holds it fast, stands firm in it, and faithfully passes it on — the transforming power of the Gospel, through the Holy Spirit, will keep changing lives.

How incredible is it that 2,000 years later we’re still here? From Paul writing in a Roman prison, to Timothy in a small church in Ephesus, to us in a little church in Lindisfarne — the Gospel continues to advance through ordinary people doing ordinary things in difficult times.

The gospel doesn’t need celebrities or empires. It advances through faithful hands, one generation to the next.

Are you guarding what has been entrusted to you?

Drop a 🔥 if you’re committed to holding fast and handing on the true Gospel.

Many years ago I was in a Hindu temple in India. The service was incredibly loud — banging pots, dancing, shouting. I asked the guide what was going on.
He replied: “They’re waking up their god.”
Imagine walking into church on Sunday thinking we needed to wake God up first 😅
But our God is not like that.
“He who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.” — Psalm 121:3-4
We serve a powerful, ever-watchful, unsleeping God who is always with us — day and night.
No matter what you’re facing right now, He is wide awake and watching over you.
Drop a 🙌 if you’re thankful for our never-sleeping God.

"We're so often thinking about ourselves... but Jesus invites us to simply ask.
"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you." (Matthew 7:7)
Just like a good earthly father wouldn’t give his son a stone instead of bread or a snake instead of a fish — how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask Him?
God doesn’t just meet our needs — He loves to. We simply need to ask.
Have you brought your daily needs to Him today?
Drop a 🙏 if this encouraged you, and comment what you’re asking God for.
