We’re proud to be part of this exciting collaborative project led by Beacon Foundation, alongside the Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI).

At PCYC Tasmania, we’re delivering this work in partnership with our regional clubs - PCYC North and Hobart PCYC - bringing together the strength of our communities to support young people.

This initiative builds on our Reset Opportunities for Youth program, combining hands-on, strengths-based support (check out our videos on our page 👀) with Beacon Foundation and TCCI’s incredible work connecting young people to real employment pathways.

It’s all about creating meaningful opportunities, boosting confidence, and helping young people take the next step toward their future.

👏 Big thanks to Beacon Foundation for leading this work and to our delivery partners PCYC North and Hobart PCYC for their ongoing commitment.

Beacon Foundation is proud to be part of the Australian Government's Local Jobs, Local People Grants initiative, supporting young people to build confidence, skills and connections to future employment opportunities in their local communities.

Working in partnership with Hobart PCYC (PCYC) and Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI), the initiative will support a group of young people (Hobart and Launceston) to build resilience and sense of belonging, career confidence and connections to employment through industry engagement, career development experiences and pathways.

This collaborative approach brings together schools, employers and community organisations to help young people better understand local opportunities and build the skills and confidence needed for the future world of work.

Beacon Foundation CEO Scott Harris said the initiative highlights the importance of community-led solutions that respond to local workforce needs.

“When organisations come together with a shared purpose, real impact happens. Reset to Ready provides holistic support for targeted young people who need it most, with PCYC building trusted connections and guidance, Beacon strengthening employability skills and confidence, and TCCI partnering with employers to create meaningful pathways into work.”

Stepping outside your comfort zone isn’t easy, but it can change what feels possible.

The Reset Opportunities for Youth Works (ROYW) program supports young people to take positive risks, build confidence and try new things.

Delivered in Partnership with PCYC North and Hobart PCYC.

17/04/2026

Reset Opportunities for Youth Works (ROYW) is PCYC Tasmania’s flagship early‑intervention program supporting young people aged 10–17 who are at risk of disengaging from education.

ROYW is delivered in partnership with PCYC North and Hobart PCYC and supported by a statewide network of more than 80 service providers.

Together, we deliver educational workshops and adventure‑based learning that provide mentoring, skill‑building and positive experiences for young people.

The program supports young people to make informed choices and strengthen their connection to school, community and future pathways.

ROYW focuses on:
• Creating alternative pathways and equitable access to opportunities
• Promoting community connection and inclusion
• Building essential life and personal development skills
• Supporting positive engagement and achievement

ROYW is a motivating and transformative program designed to empower young people and strengthen the support networks around them. By working early and providing consistent support, the program helps reduce behaviours that can place young people at risk and supports long‑term positive outcomes.

ROYW is generously supported by the Australian Government.

Vision:

To be Tasmania’s leading organisation supporting young people at risk of justice system involvement through coordinated, community‑led prevention and support.

About PCYC Tasmania:

PCYC Tasmania is the peak body for PCYCs across the state.

We work alongside young people, families, communities, schools, police, government, and local organisations to reduce youth crime and strengthen positive pathways for young people, especially those facing factors that heighten their risk of involvement in the justice system.

Through community‑led partnerships, coordinated systems of support, and evidence‑based developmental crime prevention programs, PCYC Tasmania helps young people stay engaged, build skills, and thrive.

Our network of community and government‑owned facilities -including recreation hubs and school‑based spaces - provides safe, welcoming places where young people can belong, grow, and contribute.

Our focus (2026–2029):

Strong partnerships with government and communities
Consistent, evidence‑based youth programs statewide
Sustainable, fit‑for‑purpose delivery models
Supporting young people early, before contact with the justice system
