The QVCare Village is set in a beautiful location with sweeping water views of Hobart’s River Derwent and blooming gardens. In this enviable setting, we provide for all our residents’ needs, including hairdressing, wellness centre with pool and gym, extensive recreational activities, and even an onsite café. Over our long history, we have become deeply embedded in the local Lindisfarne village, ma
king it easy for our residents to connect to their choice of shopping and services or a favourite restaurant or coffee shop. Our regular outings and activities expand those horizons into the wider Hobart community. Our services include; residential aged care, independent living units, home care and additional services and also include an exclusive membership ‘Vitals Club’ for our community members wishing to remain healthy and active. At QVCare we provide ‘real care’ and are recognised for our innovative use of technology allowing more time for staff to spend caring for residents. Our clinical platform uses technology to deliver benefits across all areas of care including medication management. Our Activities Lounge supports the needs of residents living with high levels of memory loss and dementia. Our Leisure & Lifestyle staff and volunteers work with these residents through an evidence-based program that includes preparing meals and eating together, playing board games and listening to music, reminiscing, and simply having a laugh. Our allied health pain management initiative includes both individual and group sessions designed to gain improvements in general wellbeing through both physical participation and increased social interaction which is so important to wellness. Regular functions are a hallmark of life at QVCare, including the Indian Curry Night, Spring Brunch, and Friday Night functions which also involve residents of the Independent Living Units. The Queen Vic Way is the way we do things at QVCare. We show genuine respect and compassion for all our residents, and deliver progressive care for which we are all accountable. In everything we do, we live these values: Respect, Compassion, Accountability and being Progressive. The Queen Vic Way informs our connections among family, staff, volunteers, and suppliers, our many leisure and lifestyle options, our partnership with the University of Tasmania, the meals we prepare, and all the services we offer. Our volunteers are part of The Queen Vic Way. They drive our buses, read to residents, tell stories, run musical concerts, and help with providing support with activities. The benefits are mutual – they form friendships, share their skills, learn from residents - and are a special part of life at QVCare Village. QV Care is located at:
