🏆 RECLINK YOUTH FOOTBALL LEAGUE - INNER CITY FINALS.

The Reclink Inner City Football League delivered two brilliant finals, and a reminder that ladder positions only tell part of the story.

🔴 CLARENCE BOYS: POWERHOUSE CAMPAIGN, PRESSURE FINAL

Clarence High School had been the competition’s powerhouse, finishing on top of the boys’ ladder with 60 points and a percentage of 297.49.

Their football was impressive, but so were their behaviours and attitudes. Every Clarence player represented their school with class throughout the 4 weeks of footy.

New Norfolk High School pipped Kingston High School Tasmania by percentage to make the FINAL, with an imposing percentage of 272.94. In the final, they brought intensity, pressure and genuine belief.

The contest tightened before the second half proved decisive. Clarence found momentum, carried it forward and ultimately powered their way home to claim the Inner City championship!

🟢 KINGSTON GIRLS — THE LAST-GASP UPSET!

Sorell School had dominated the round-robin stage, finishing comfortably on top of the girls’ ladder with 52 points and an extraordinary percentage of 481.75.

Kingston entered the final as the underdogs, but Kingston versus Sorell in girls’ school sport is a serious event!

The rivalry delivered exactly what we hoped it would.

With only seconds remaining and Sorell still holding the advantage, Kingston found one final opportunity. They kicked the goal, stole the lead and snatched the championship in the most dramatic way possible!

Absolute scenes. That’s finals footy!!

As good as the football was, the schools and players were the real highlight.

There was a strong understanding of the different levels of experience across schools and among individual students. Watching experienced club players coach, encourage and guide students who haven’t previously had the same exposure to football was awesome.

That willingness to bring others into the game, to share knowledge, build confidence and celebrate each other; is exactly what the Reclink Community Series is about.

A MASSIVE thank you to AFL Tasmania, who provided the umpires, match management, incredible efficiency and support that allowed the competition to run so smoothly.

This was the biggest year of football Reclink has delivered yet, and AFL Tasmania’s contribution was a huge part of making it possible.

Great football. Outstanding school representation. Even better camaraderie.

Congratulations to Clarence High School, Kingston High School and every student who contributed to a fantastic Inner City Football League!

🏆 TWO FINALS. TWO UPSETS. THAT’S FINALS FOOTY!

The Reclink District Youth Football League delivered a reminder of why we love the game… ya just never know!! 🙌

🔵 CAMPANIA GIRLS — BACK-TO-BACK CHAMPIONS!

Montrose Bay High School entered the final as slight favourites after playing consistently high-quality footy throughout the tournament. But the reigning district champions weren’t giving up their crown easily!

Campania District High School made the most of the breeze when it favoured them, in a contest that swung back and forth with moments of brilliance from both teams. When the final siren sounded, it was Campania with their noses in front, and another title to celebrate!

🔴 TASMAN BOYS — TEAMWORK WINS THE DAY!

Campania stormed through the round-robin undefeated. Athletic, dashing and impressive to watch, they entered the final as the team to beat.

But Tasman District School had something special going: outstanding team play, connection and a willingness to work for each other. They held a narrow lead throughout the contest, answering every challenge to claim the championship!

And the third-place playoffs? The participating teams chose to watch the finals instead and were treated to two high-quality contests. A pretty handy endorsement from their fellow players!

Congratulations to every team involved, with a special shoutout to the Montrose boys. Representing their school with a host of Year 7 lads, they didn’t take a backward step. Give them three years and Cornelian Bay will be a genuine home-ground advantage!!

🏆 GRADE 9/10 BOYS NETBALL CHAMPIONS — CLARENCE HIGH SCHOOL

Clarence High School have closed the Reclink Community Series Netball week as Grade 9/10 Boys champions after defeating Kingston High School Tasmania in an absolute thriller.

The lead changed hands throughout the final and appeared completely uninterested in settling down. Every time one team found some breathing room, the other responded.

Kingston were skilful, disciplined and refused to allow the game to drift away. Clarence, though, were long, athletic and incredibly well connected. In a final that see-sawed from beginning to end, they managed to be in front at the only moment that ultimately mattered.

It was an epic contest and extraordinarily well umpired. The players were allowed to compete physically and passionately while the match remained controlled, fair and worthy of the occasion.

⭐ LEAGUE MVP — LEO WARD, CLARENCE HIGH SCHOOL

Leo stood out in a team overflowing with elite athletes. His polish and composure were obvious, but it was his class behaviours - the way he competed, communicated and represented his school- that elevated his tournament.

A deserving MVP in every sense.

The final also closed an extraordinary week in which 464 students participated in school netball through the Reclink Community Series.

That number matters. But so too does what sat beneath it: schools collaborating, students representing their communities, regional teams making the journey, new friendships forming and hundreds of young people being given a positive place to compete.

The glory for bringing all of this together belongs to Korrin Petrie from Netball Tasmania.

Korrin coordinated four round-robin tournaments with a level of efficiency that bordered on administrative sorcery. The scheduling, communication and match management were exceptional, and her calm leadership created an environment in which the schools, TALS students, officials and players could simply get on with producing a wonderful week.

Congratulations to Clarence, enormous credit to Kingston, and thank you to every school that contributed to a week full of wins.

A huge thank you to for supporting a surfing clinic for our Reclink homeschool group in South Australia.

The kids were so eager to hit the water and have some fun, showing plenty of bravery in the freezing conditions!

Safe to say, everyone had a fantastic time and we think a few of them may have caught the surfing bug! A shout-out to Surfing Australia and Surf Culture Crew for making it such a great experience.

With thanks to Macquarie Sports for helping make opportunities like this possible.

For 10 weeks, Reclink provided a bus service to the Mallacoota community for weekly trips to the closest public pool in Pambula, NSW over 70km away. It was a great success and the impact reached far beyond the water.

Thanks to this free bus service, residents of all ages, from children under seven to adults in their seventies, enjoyed the opportunity to stay active, improve their wellbeing, and connect with others. For many older participants, the service removed the barrier of travelling long distances, making it possible to attend the pool for rehabilitation, gentle exercise, or simply the joy of a swim.

The journey itself became just as important as the destination. Friendships were formed across generations, stories were shared, and laughter filled the bus, thanks in no small part to our wonderful driver, whose kindness and humour made everyone feel welcome.

Many participants also enjoyed stopping in Pambula after their swim for a coffee, cake or a visit to the markets, creating opportunities to stay socially connected and support local businesses.

At Reclink Australia, we believe that recreation creates connection. Programs like the Swim Bus help reduce isolation, improve physical and mental wellbeing, and strengthen communities one journey at a time.

It has been a busy month for trainees in Queensland completing the 20-week Skilling Queenslanders for Work Programs in Caboolture and Logan.

Highlights were trainees from both sites getting together to explore the Brisbane Careers and Employment Expo at the Convention Centre.

It was very productive, with trainees having the opportunity to speak to employers and training organisations as they plan their career pathways after completing their traineeship at Reclink.

Caboolture trainees had a visit to Diggerman on the Sunshine Coast where they completed working at heights and confined spaces training as well as trying out various types of plant machinery on site.

Next week, Caboolture's Conservation and Ecosystem Management trainees graduate with several already securing employment with other businesses. Congratulations to everything you have achieved over the last few months.
