What does safe, secure housing mean to the people who call Foundation Housing home?

At our recent staff event, three tenants shared their personal stories of resilience, recovery, stability and hope.

From pursuing a Masters degree, to rebuilding confidence, to simply knowing the pressure of housing insecurity is gone, their stories were a powerful reminder of why housing matters.

As we celebrate 40 years of housing and community, we're proud to share their reflections and the impact that safe, secure housing can have on people's lives.

☕💛 We're going All In for National Reconciliation Week.

This week, our team came together for the National Reconciliation Week Breakfast Watch Party, with breakfast bags prepared by our Reconciliation Working Group to help staff participate whether they were working from the office or from home.

Alongside the watch party, we're sharing learning resources and opportunities for reflection throughout the week to help build our understanding of reconciliation, truth-telling and the shared journey we all have a role in.

The 2026 National Reconciliation Week theme, All In, challenges us to move beyond passive support and commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation through education, understanding, meaningful relationships and action.

At Foundation Housing, we're committed to continuing our reconciliation journey and creating opportunities for our people to learn, listen and engage.

🌱 Giving back to a space that gives so much to the community.

Yesterday, some of the Foundation Housing team rolled up their sleeves at for a corporate volunteering day filled with mulching, gardening, shovelling and learning more about sustainable urban farming.

We learnt about the history of the land, bees, worm farms and the incredible work that goes into maintaining the space - all supported by just two part-time gardeners. It was a great reminder of the impact community spaces like this have across Perth.

Perth City Farm is also home to our annual Makers Market, so it was fantastic to give back to a place that has supported our community events over the years.

A special shout out to Neil, who was instrumental in helping develop the site into what it is today. We even discovered he once lived onsite in a caravan during the farm’s early days - now that’s dedication!

Thanks to Perth City Farm for having us and to our team for getting involved. 💚

Back in March, we celebrated the sod turning for our Murdoch development - Rise@Murdoch - officially marking the start of this exciting project.

Now, construction is progressing on site, and we’re excited to see the vision continuing to come to life.

This development will help deliver more safe, secure and affordable housing for the community, and we can’t wait to share more milestones along the journey.

This National Volunteer Week, we’re celebrating the incredible contribution of our Tenant and Resident Committee members. The people who help shape stronger, more connected communities across Foundation Housing.

This year’s theme, “Your Year to Volunteer,” is a reminder that volunteering can take many forms: from sharing ideas and advocating for others, to helping organise activities, welcoming neighbours, and creating spaces where people feel heard and supported.

Our committee members generously give their time, voices and lived experience to help make our communities better for everyone. Their contribution helps strengthen connections, build belonging and ensure tenant voices remain at the heart of what we do.

To all of our volunteers: thank you. Your passion, care and commitment make a real difference every day.

A fresh new chapter for Broome Lodge ✨

We’re proud to share the refurbishment of Broome Lodge — creating refreshed, welcoming spaces that support comfort, connection and community for residents.

The upgrades help ensure residents have access to safe, modern and functional accommodation, while maintaining the sense of home that makes Broome Lodge so special.

Thank you to everyone involved in bringing the project to life and the Labour Government for making the project possible with a $1.9m grant 💛

A warm welcome starts here.

This World Receptionists Day, we’re recognising the incredible people who help create welcoming, supportive and positive experiences for everyone who walks through our doors.

Thank you to our Reception Team - Jean & Lesley - for your dedication, professionalism and care - and for the many ways you support our staff, tenants, visitors and community each day.

To celebrate, we’ve created a Reception Appreciation Wall in reception and invite staff, tenants and visitors to leave a message of thanks or appreciation for our amazing team.

We appreciate you. 💛 Happy World Receptionists Day!
