Thrilled (and a little bit starstruck) to be sharing the stage with Australian Astronaut, Katherine Bennell-Pegg, Fighter Pilot Sue Freeman, Space Laser Comms expert Sascha Schediwy, Qantas First Officer 737 Amy Edwards and Director of the International Space Centre, Danail Obreschkow for this very special STEM event!

The panel discussion is being held in the Octagon Theatre at The University of Western Australia on Saturday 31st August at 10.30am.

Revisitng my Flight Around Oz journey that took off from White Gum Air Park two years ago!

On this date, I was departing from Bremer Bay to fly to Esperance for flight leg number five.

I'd been staying in Bremer Bay at a fish packing plant that was also used by the whale researchers from UWA! What a trip! 🐳

Thankfully, the reception held out for the entire flight, including a short stopover at Ravensthorpe to refuel.

After I landed at David and Jen Ford's private strip, I was whisked back to Bremer Bay by one of the local pilots in his RV14 to pick up my car. It took us 50 minutes in his RV travelling at 180 knots to do what had just taken me 4 hours to complete in the trike 😂😂😂

So weird to reflect that this time two years ago I was four flight legs into my flight around Australia, taking off from Narrikup Airfield in south-west WA to head to Bremer Bay.

It was 4 degrees that chilly morning and the flight took me over the amazing rocky granite cliffs of Albany and blue waters filled with migrating whales! 🐳

The best news happened today - the Toondah Harbour proposal has been REJECTED by Minister Tanya Plibersek! 🎊🥳🙌

This is such a great outcome after years of dedicated campaigning. Toondah Harbour is part of the Moreton Bay Ramsar wetland and home to the critically endangered Eastern Curlew.

Walker Corporation had proposed 3,000 apartments, marina and shops for the site, which is a critical habitat for the endangered eastern curlew
