Last week The University of Western Australia “History in 4D” students gathered at Galup for a workshop about the Galup Arts Project presented by Ian Wilkes and Poppy van Oorde-Grainger. 🌳

👋Meet Jacintha de Nobrega, our Development and Fundraising Coordinator!

Jacintha is a passionate arts leader and highly skilled administrator who has played a significant role in shaping South Africa’s creative industries. She served as the founding Chairperson of the Durban FilmMart Institute and was a driving force behind SWIFT (Sisters Working in Film and Television), an organisation advocating for gender equity across the screen and performing arts. Jacintha is an alumna of the Los Angeles Film School and the founder of Arclight Productions, an award-winning film company. Her films have travelled to festivals around the world and her latest feature documentary, London Recruits received Best Documentary at the 2024 Joburg Film Festival and was awarded Outstanding Documentary at the 2025 National Arts and Culture Awards.

Introducing Same Drum’s Advisory Circle!

▪️ Dr Glenda Kickett is a Whadjuk Noongar Elder, CEO of Karla Kuliny and Chair of NAIDOC Perth and was previously Co-Chair of Social Reinvestment WA and Chair of Shooting Stars.

▪️ Ian Wilkes is a Noongar theatre-maker, former Artistic Associate for Perth Festival and previous winner of NAIDOC Artist of the Year.

▪️ Rita Yousif is a bilingual singer and previous Same Drum program participant, currently completing a BA in Psychology at Curtin University.

▪️ Grady Habib is Managing Director at Sandbox Productions, where he works across film, TV and VR.

▪️ June Moorhouse is currently a member of Lotterywest Board of Commissioners and was previously Co-CEO of Community Arts Network, Director at Fremantle Arts Centre and Manager of WA Opera.

▪️ Jac Low is an executive arts leader whose experience includes Director of Operations at Regional Arts Victoria, Director of Operations at The Last Great Hunt and General Manager at Collingwood Yards.

We’re so very lucky to have these six individuals forming our Core Advisory Circle. 💭
