Mission Liaison Group - Second Life Pasifika We always need: more volunteers; more goods; much more finance. We love sending books - but will not normally send books with a publishing date before 2010.

MLG, a Uniting Church group founded in 1966, receives, sorts & packs goods for Pacific-partner Churches, so our gifts have a 2nd life - hence our alternative name: Second Life Pasifika. MLG is involved in the receiving, sorting, packing and despatch of second-hand and new goods to a number of South Pacific nations where local churches are responsible for local costs and the distribution of the go

ods to local organisations and individuals. The range of goods fits within a general description: goods of any kind that can have a useful first or second life in the Pacific. In recent years MLG's concentration has been on goods for schools and kindergartens, but that does not mean that we will not accept other goods which we know from long experience will find a use in any of the 6 countries to which we send container shipments. Nor will we send such things as type-writers, which neither Australians nor Pacific Islanders use any longer. If you are unsure about whether what you have is suitable, contact us and we'll let you know! Mission Liaison Group is a registered charitable organization but CANNOT offer tax deductible receipts for donations.

Another great morning despite the rain and cold. A small number of packets turned up - not to pack the container, but to pack goods into boxes.
The container packing will resume on Saturday.
Thanks to Beverley O'Brien not only for the goods but for staying to pack boxes and chat over morning tea.
By the way Saturday will only be a morning tea occasion: no lunch.
Goods accepted, of course.

A GREAT restart this morning!
Thanks to Joyce Cameron's work in contacting our volunteer, it was back to packing the next container. From 9 till 11.30 at Noble Park Uniting Church we managed to about a quarter of a container, including about 100 filled backpacks.
Now we're ready to receive goods again: either Thursday morning 9 - 11 or Saturday morning 9 - 11.
So, if you're a volunteer we'll be glad to see you at either time. If you're a donor of goods or money we'll be equally happy to see you.
