ZOE combines the experience gained from working with child trafficking survivors with current anti-trafficking research, methodologies, and implementations from around the world. ZOE continues to adapt with innovative solutions in the key areas of prevention, rescue, and restoration. ZOE Foundation Australia (established in 2011) is part of the global work of ZOE International (established 2002). ZFA promotes, communicate about, and funds the work of ZOE internationally in the areas of: prevention, rescue, restoration, missions and leadership. Since 2002, ZOE International has been reaching people with the gospel and combating child trafficking by working directly with children and youth who have been exploited. When a case is classified as something other than child trafficking, the child still needs specialised care — but the system may never know to offer it.

Save the date! The Melbourne Justice Walk is back in 2026, and we would love you to join us on Saturday, 10 October.

The Justice Walk is an opportunity for our community to come together and raise awareness for children who are vulnerable to trafficking and exploitation. It’s a simple but powerful way to stand for justice, and it’s also a great morning out with others who care deeply about seeing children protected and lives restored.

Whether you come with friends, family, your community, or colleagues, every step taken helps shine a light on the need to protect vulnerable children and bring hope where it’s needed most.

More details will be shared closer to the date, including the meeting point, timing and how to register.

For now, mark 10 October in your calendar. We can’t wait to walk with you.

This World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, we are honoured to share the words of lived and living experience advocate Kirsten Iosefo.
At ZOE, we are committed to preventing child trafficking through education, increasing awareness, and supporting children on their journey towards restoration.
Kirsten and ZOE share a commitment to ensuring the voices of Australians who have experienced child trafficking are heard. Lived experience brings a depth of understanding that cannot be learned from data alone. By listening to those who live with its lifelong impacts, we strengthen our understanding of child trafficking in Australia and help inform the work needed to better protect children.
Together, we remain hopeful that earlier recognition, specialised trauma-informed support, and a deeper understanding of child trafficking can reduce further harm and help change the trajectory of children’s lives.
Thank you, Kirsten, for trusting us with your words, your voice and your hope.

Tomorrow, for World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, we’ll be sharing a powerful message from lived and living experience advocate Kirsten Iosefo.

Too many people believe child trafficking is an issue that only happens overseas. The truth is, it happens here in Australia too. That misconception leaves children unseen and communities unaware of what is happening in our own backyard.

Kirsten’s lived experience challenges these myths and reminds us why listening to survivors matters. Real change begins when we are willing to hear the truth.

When we share Kirsten’s message tomorrow, we’d love you to help amplify it by sharing it with your family, friends, colleagues and community. Every share helps challenge misconceptions, raise awareness, and remind more Australians that child trafficking is not just a global issue—it’s an Australian one too.

The more people who know the truth, the better equipped we are to protect children.

Please share tomorrow’s post. Together, we can help ensure the truth reaches further.

In the lead up to World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, we acknowledge the work of Eve Wintergreen, Tarang Jain and colleagues at St Vincent’s Health Australia. Their development of training and a practical screening tool is strengthening the healthcare response to human trafficking and modern slavery.

Ending human trafficking requires awareness, education, and action across all sectors — including healthcare — to ensure people at risk are seen, heard, and supported.

Awareness is the first step toward protection, identification, and change.

Later this week, for World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, we’ll be sharing the words of lived and living experience advocate Kirsten Iosefo.

Kirsten’s powerful reflection challenges misconceptions about child trafficking in Australia and reminds us why listening to lived experience matters. Truth begins when we are willing to hear the voices of those who have lived it.

When we share Kirsten’s words, we invite you to do more than read—please share the post with your family, friends, and community. Every share helps raise awareness, challenge harmful myths, and bring the truth into more conversations.

Truth starts the conversation. Your voice helps it reach further.
