EOFY is just around the corner.⏳

If you’ve been thinking about giving, now is a meaningful time to act - your support helps create stability, belonging, and support across our communities. There’s still time.

“Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” 2 Corinthians 9:7 (NIV)

Come as you are 💚

Some seasons just take everything out of you. And Jesus looks at you in the middle of that and says bring all of it. He is not asking you to hold it together a little longer.

Janelle Clarke knows a thing or two about shopping. Her 20+ years of retail experience, plus an eye for visual merchandising and having a strong sense of purpose to care for others is what makes her perfect to manage the Bribie Island Church of Christ Op Shop.

‘I make it about people," Janelle says.

The busy hub acts as a central meeting point for many in the community, with some staying for a cup of tea, and others pitching in as volunteers. Regulars call it the "David Jones" of Bribie.

Recently, Janelle made it as a Top 3 Finalist at the Queensland Volunteer of the Year Awards. She was presented with a certificate at a special ceremony at Brisbane City Hall last month and is making sure to share the nomination celebrations with the wider Op Shop team at an event this month.

Belonging changes what feels possible.

When people feel safe and supported, they begin to move forward again - with confidence, connection, and hope for what comes next. This is the kind of change our Hope Needs a Home appeal will support. 🏠

“Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” Matthew 25:40 (NIV)

Who knew Chaplain Mike had a secret talent?
At a recent Autism Awareness morning tea at our Hillcrest housing complex, Chaplain Mike took on a new role as trivia host! Movie stars, power drill noises, and theme tunes from the 70s and 80s were all on offer. Thanks, Mike, for bringing people together over food, laughter, and a great cause.

Well done to everyone involved.
