Sherwood Scout Group

Sherwood Scout Group We were established in 1910. We have children aged 6–18 years, divided between Joeys, Cubs, Scouts and Venturer Scouts, all led by local Volunteer Leaders.

Sherwood Scout Group is one of the oldest and longest continuously running Scout Groups in Queensland and Australia. The first Sherwood Scout Patrol commenced on the 8th of March 1910, just two years after the first Queensland Scout Patrol, and three years after the inception of Scouting in 1907 by Robert Baden Powell. Over these many years we have guided many local families. Currently we have 40+

families, with children aged 5.5 – 18 years, divided between Joeys, Cubs, Scouts and Venturer Scouts, all led by local Volunteer Leaders.

Scouts and Cubs competed in Tyakunda Trail Blazer (rogaine format) on Sunday. A great day was had!!

Well that is a wrap for cubs 2024! Hope all the kids enjoyed their year where we have:

-Been on 3 camps

-Been paddling on Karingal Dam

-Gone on lots of hikes (Mt Cootha at night, Tyakunda trailblazes, Mt Beerburrum)

-Gone flying!

-Lots of fires and cooking

-Lots of building (shelters, stretchers, bug hotels, shields, worm farms!)
