Hornsby Chamber of Commerce Advocating for your Business

We are a growing community of dynamic business owners and operators

Hornsby is a vast green space, with over 15,000 registered businesses run by hard working and committed business owners. With one business in the Hornsby Shire for every 11 residents, it highlights the huge impact of small business to our local economy.

20/06/2026

Yesterday The Hornsby Chamber and local businesses met with Julian Leeser in a round table discussion at Hotel Pennant Hills.

Julian heard from over 20 small businesses and entrepreneurs about their views on Labours budget.

With taxes on savings, investments and family trusts this is going to have a huge impact on local businesses who are already struggling under increased costs.

The general consensus among small businesses is that there is uncertainty. Customers are cutting back on spending, prioritising what they can afford, the cost of living among families is high, prices are going up.

Thank You to Julian Leeser for taking the time to listen to small businesses and the difficulties they are facing. And for taking this to parliament.

Small businesses are the back bone of society, we need small businesses, who put their houses and savings on the line and risk everything for their entrepreneurial drive and passion to create a service or product.

Thank You to everyone who attended and provided valuable feedback at this discussion.

Running a business can be challenging, but the right conversations can make all the difference.

Join us next week Thursday for our June Business After Hours event and connect with local business owners, professionals and community leaders from across the Hornsby region.

This month we're heading to Asquith Bowling & Recreation Club for an evening of networking, drinks, pizza and practical business insights from special guest speaker Alec Tucker, Founder of Obiquitech AI Advisory.

Alec will share a practical, non-hype look at where AI is genuinely improving profitability, efficiency and decision-making in modern businesses β€” and where it may be creating hidden risks instead.

Whether you're already exploring AI or simply curious about what it means for your business, you'll walk away with valuable insights and new local connections.

Last week’s Hornsby Chamber Coffee Catch-Up proved what we keep saying every Coffee Catch Up is unique, and that’s the point.

This time, we headed to Koala Park Sanctuary Sydney at West Pennant Hills. Our members arrived expecting coffee and conversation. They left having fed kangaroos, met koalas face-to-face, and learned why conservation work matters.

We had a fantastic turnout, and we want to thank Mayor Warren Waddell for joining us. It’s great to have council supporting local business community events.

Also we want to thank the team at Koala Park. These staff members do incredible work caring for native Australian wildlife every single day. Watching them interact with the animals, explain their care routines, and share their passion for conservation; it reminded us why places like this matter. They’ve created something special, and they opened their doors to host us. Thank you.

If you haven’t been to Koala Park and you want to see Australian wildlife up close and personal, it’s genuinely worth the trip.

And if you missed this one? Our next Coffee Catch-Up is at Hornsby Village Chef. Same great networking, different venue, different experience. Event details and registration at the link or on our events page.

During our May Hornsby Chamber Coffee Catch Up, we sat down with Nathan, owner of Kwik Kopy Hornsby, to talk about his business journey and his passion for helping other local businesses grow.

From eye catching business cards and brochures to building signage and massive billboards, Nathan and his team at Kwik Kopy provide the design, print, and branding solutions that help Hornsby businesses stand out and make a real impact in their community.

What impressed us most? Nathan's commitment to quality. With cutting edge technology in their shop, he ensures every single print job is perfect because he knows local businesses deserve the best. And his hands-on approach speaks volumes: Nathan is there every day, answering calls and emails personally, ready to help.

In just 10 months, Kwik Kopy has already grown significantly. But Nathan isn't stopping there he's strapped in and ready for what's next.
