Hornsby Art Society's Annual Awards Exhibition

This year we have an outstanding collection of over 120 artworks in a variety of media.
Artist are vying for cash prizes as well as the "Bea Roche Trophy" for Best Watercolour and the "Ruth Jones Trophy" for Best in Show.
Open for viewing from 10.00am to 4.00pm daily (except Monday) until Sunday28th June at Wallarobba Arts and Cultural Centre, 25 Edfgeworth David Avenue, Hornsby.
Entry to the exhibition is free and there is free parking on site.

HORNSBY ART SOCIETY VOLUNTEERS EXHIBITION 2026
This month we are proud to feature artworks of those members who made time to assist in the delivery of our programme of events during 2025. A wonderful variety of subjects and mediums to view and/or buy. Many of the exhibiting artists are award winners.
Open from 10.00am to 4.00pm daily (except Mondays) from 14th to 26th April at Wallarobba Arts and Cultural Centre, 25 Edgeworth David Avenue, Hornsby. Free entry and free parking on site.

Hornsby Art Society is again proud to showcase the work of our next generation of artists. We acknowledge the generous support of Sydney Art School Hornsby, and Hornsby Shire Council.
This year we asked our young artists to present an artwork with a theme of “My Dream”. Artists present their work on A3 paper and these are then mounted by our wonderful volunteers so that all works compete on an equal basis. The total prize pool value of $3150.00 (consisting of cash, free art lessons from Sydney Art School and art resource kits, also provided by Sydney Art School) is divided among winners in three age group categories 5-7, 8-11 and 12-15 years.
These works are on display at Wallarobba Arts and Cultural centre, open daily from 10.00am to 4.00pm until Sunday 29th March. Free entry and free parking on site.

Yesterday we welcomed Tetiana Koldunenko who was originally from Kiev, Ukraine, now based in Sydney as this month's guest artist.
Tetiana has had many exhibitions showing her paintings which are inspired by the Australian landscape. Starting with a loose drawing on heavy gessoed canvas in watercolour pencil, she then used modeling paste to create a shallow sculptural relief background capturing the forms and textures of the Australian bush. Tetiana then showed us how, using acrylic paint, she layered different hues giving different effects when viewed from different areas. The overall effect can sometimes be viewed as abstract art.

A very happy gathering last night for the opening event and Christmas get-together for this exhibition and art sale. Congratulations to Trey Warren on winning the Lucky Door Prize. From extra large to very small and everything in between, we have it all. In one of the most beautiful galleries in the country which normally displays well under 100 artworks, our legendary Hanging Team, have managed to display double that number and still produce a stunning looking show.
