Grief Care

Grief Care Guidance on how to navigate loss, grief and bereavement. "Death does not end our story, death does not end our relationships, life is changed not ended."

Everyone’s grief experience is unique and personal - There is no right or wrong way to grieve. Grief can be unpredictable and we may experience emotions that we have not experienced before. Reactions to grief can range from being overwhelmed through to discomfort or feelings of relief. Grief Care is a resource providing support, conversation, referral and education for people grieving a death or s

eeking to understand the loss and grief experience. Grief Care also provides education and training on grief, loss, trauma and bereavement to the general public, community organisations, parishes, schools, health professionals, and funeral directors as requested.

In a remarkably candid exchange with young people in Barcelona's Lluis Companys Olympic Stadium June 9, Pope Leo XIV reflected on depression, su***de and the pressures of modern life, warning that many modern societies have embraced a vision of progress that burdens people with expectations and demands that undermine their well-being.

"It is important to recognize how mental health is increasingly threatened in societies that consider themselves advanced," he said, calling it a sign that "there is something deeply wrong" with a culture centered on constant performance and productivity.

In seasons of grief and growing darkness, grace is not pretending we’re okay. It is choosing to keep walking, loving, hoping, and trusting that even in loss, life is still unfolding. Go gently, dear friends.

A gathering of remembrance, faith and love

Our Mother’s Day Masses brought together families across our cemetery communities in a spirit of prayer and remembrance.

We were deeply moved by the strong attendance at each site, with families joining us at Liverpool, Kemps Creek and Rookwood to honour the mothers and mother figures who remain forever in their hearts.

Thank you to all who attended, and to everyone who helped create a peaceful and meaningful day through music, flowers, hospitality and care.

May these gatherings continue to offer comfort to all who are grieving.
