Our third Early Learning Facility is taking shape at an incredible pace!

Built in partnership with the wonderful Blue Illusion team, this Category 5 educational facility is being constructed in Lekutu, on the island of Vanua Levu, in the province of Bua .. creating a safe, inspiring space where generations of little learners will begin their educational journeys. 📚❤️

And now, the fun part… we’re dreaming up the gardens and playground! 🌱🛝 We can’t wait to see these plans come to life, so stay tuned…

Did we mention we have the best building team ever? 🙌🏼

Building Early Learning Centres across the Bua Province was never just about the facility itself, its just part of the story.

It’s the Katalyst building team teaching new skills on site for volunteers. It’s villagers turning up before sunrise to help mix concrete for a classroom their kids or grandkids will learn in. It’s young men and women picking up trade skills they’ll carry into their next job and the next.

That’s the part we love most. Every kindergarten we build creates real work, real wages, real skills for the very families who’ll send their little ones through those doors. It’s for the community, built by the community.

Last night we celebrated Mesake’s 21st birthday at our Tertiary Hostel in Suva.

Being away from home (Bua, Vanua Levu) while pursuing an education is never easy and birthdays can make that distance feel even greater.

Our Tertiary Hostel is so much more than just accommodation. It’s a home away from home, a place where students become family, celebrate each other’s milestones and support one another through the challenges of university life.

The need for international support to Health facilities across Fiji is far greater than is imaginable. Our work relies on the generosity of the community we build and its supporters from Australia for quality, much needed donations. This week we wholeheartedly thank the generous team at Donvale Rehabilitation Centre in Melbourne.

And this one feels particularly special — a place where generations of little people will take their first steps into their educational journeys, learning, growing and dreaming for years to come.

Bula Re from our amazing building team including Tima, our resident cook, onsite in Lekutu. This team is busy building the foundation’s 3rd Early Learning Facility in Bua, Vanua Levu together with Blue Illusion.

We feel so grateful to be able to gift this to the people of Lekutu very soon, where it will serve children for many generations to come 🩵

Our hard working team has been working tirelessly on site and the results are already taking shape. The roof trusses have been installed, concrete steps and porch beam completed bringing this much-needed learning space one step closer to becoming a reality for the children of Lekutu.

At the end of the 12th week of construction, we have now completed 50% of the project - Halfway there! 🙌🏼

We’re incredibly proud of the progress and grateful to everyone helping us turn this vision into a lasting investment in the Lekutu community. ❤️🇫🇯

50% complete. So much more to come.

This week, the Katalyst Foundation team delivered another shipment of much-needed medical equipment at the Colonial War Memorial (CWM) Hospital in Suva, including vital neonatal equipment that will help give Fiji’s smallest and most vulnerable patients.

As Fiji’s leading public hospital, CWM cares for a large portion of Fijis population thousands every year. The need is significant and we’re committed to continuing to support the incredible doctors, nurses and healthcare teams who work tirelessly with the resources they have.

None of this would be possible without the generosity of our partners.

A heartfelt thank you to Paul and the entire team at Cabrini Hospital Malvern and St Vincent's Melbourne for once again standing beside us. Your ongoing support is helping strengthen healthcare in Fiji and making a tangible difference where it is needed most.
